Bridget Regan and Bruce Spence are good in my book, but they're not who I see when I read the novels, since by then I'd already conjured my own cast in my head. Craig Horner's a perfectly fine actor, but he never gives me a Richard vibe; in the books, Richard is described as a being fairly large in stature, whereas Horner often looks shorter and thinner than Regan.

And like I said in that in one post I made after I finished season two, the show was well-made and was fun for what it was, but there's a mountain of stuff from the books it missed the point of entirely. I know adaptations mean change, but I shouldn't be watching the pilot episode and counting the number of times I say, "Wrong!"

...Darken Rahl's goal in obtaining the boxes of Orden was to discover which one to open that would grant him power over all life and death. Richard, through his memorized knowledge of the Book of Counted Shadows (which neither Kahlan nor Zedd knew he possessed), tricks Rahl into opening the one that instead sends him to the underworld - he does this by making Rahl believe he's under the influence of the Confessor's power even though Richard has already realized he's immune to Kahlan's touch via his love for her. He beats Rahl utilizing the Wizard's First Rule: People will believe a lie if they want it to be true or fear that it could be.

I may not get a chance until next week (about to head out of town)...hopefully a theater in my area will still have it then.
