I definitely liked it better than Contagion. And I really liked Contagion. But the script for Side Effects was a lot better, as was most of the acting. In particular, Jude Law and Rooney Mara

TPac? haha. I really dug #12 out of these. I thought Shinedown's album was really disappointing and uninspired especially compared to Sound of Madness.
Haha thanks Cochise. Fixed. It wasn't nearly as good as Sound of Madness but those 2 songs are fantastic. The rest of it... I can take it or leave it.
I thought about Breasts Of The Southern Wild two days after I posted mine - GOOD STUFF-
I'd actually be totally okay if any of my top 6 won the oscar. But if Lincoln or Life of Pi get it... I'm going to groan. If Amour gets it I'll just be shocked and then I'll hunt it down and watch it.
i saw too many bad films last year. Be glad these were all you saw these. Even though i have to admit Carter pissed me off more than most. By far one of the biggest disappointments of last year.
#1 & 4 I liked both at least somewhat.
#2 & 3 I agree with you fully.
#5 Good. You skipped some dirt without seeing it. That way, you save money wisely. Some Schmoes would like their money back after watching certain crap.
@Lelek if I'm BORED by a movie there's no way I'm going to put it on my list. But there are a lot of movies that I think are great movies that just don't really manage to get into my top 10 because they're difficult to watch. Requiem for a Dream is a good example. That's a fantastic movie but it's not getting anywhere near my top 10. Perks of Being a Wallflower is another great movie that I'll probably never watch again and so it doesn't sit on the top 10. Last year it was The Artist. And then there's the placement of the movies on the list. It's not in order based on how GOOD I think they are, but on how much I liked them. Cloud Atlas is probably the worst movie in my top 10 but I really liked it so there it sits near the top
Man! I got some catching up to do! out of all these I've only seen Cabin in the Woods, Skyfall, The Hobbit and Prometheus.

I like how you altered this list. There is a lot of sex in these listed movies. A person does not imagine that parents would want to watch such stuff. Especially, a person has a tough time imagining watching such stuff with the folks. I remember watching Bachelor Party with the parents; that experience was a bit different.
But it's interesting because I'm expecting 4 or 5 December movies to completely take this list over
absolutely fantastic 1-2-3 my man. Lookin forward to seeing 4 and 5 as well and The Master. The Grey was great as was Goon, both great must sees!
nice, loved 1 and 3 as well. Liked 4, 6, 9 and 10 as well as really liked Goon and The Grey myself. Hope I feel the same about Cloud Atlas and I can't wait to see #5 as son as I can find it somewhere... have been hearing good things about 8 as well and the trailer looked surprisingly good.

#3 Horrorfan said it. Good choice. Your date and you probably both enjoyed the show. With all the kids present, you did not make out much, one hopes.
#14 My two bootlegs are accidental purchases too. Some fans try following the rules.
#1 - Yes.. I think every guy who watched Beauty and the Beast fell in love with Belle.. this list is great dude.. I love them.

I haven't seen the Cars films either haha. I do want to check them out though....kinda.
She does indeed. She often claims I'm better but I don't believe her. I suggested a threesome. lol
shit man if you get chris to come to your house consider it an orgy cuz you know my ass is showing up on your doorstep.
great list , and yes ..you've definitely forgotten some , it's inevitable .
I was in a frozen tundra of emotion when I watched it. Liam Neeson punted Baxter!!
I would probably have gone to hug the wolves because I'm an idiot who loves animals. Expecting to have a 'White Fang' moment....

@X-KID I almost gouged my eyes out in the theater. And I got in for free.

I was gonna make my own version of this list, but my top 7 are the same as yours

CapAm better than Iron Man???? It's the one Avenger prequel I haven't seen, and I just rewatched IM1 and remembered how good it was, so I guess we'll see...

@Fabster I had to stop buying Doritos because I'd do the same thing. haha
Frickin' Swedish Fish are an absolute sin. I love the damnable things, and I'm a diabetic!
As for Doritos...anyone try the new Taco Bell Dorito Taco?! This frickin' thing is another sinful food. Ridiculously good (even for Taco Bell)! I could eat 6-8 of these things. That being that, the only thing better would be a taco shell made out of a BBQ Grippo Potato Chip (and if you don't know what a Grippo is, then imagine the best BBQ chip you've eaten that is smothered with the best BBQ seasoning ever). T'would be shear Nirvana.
Until then...try the Dorito Taco and then have some Swedish Fish for dessert! Super delicious!
nice. I'm the same with Blizzo, think I'll do that before I (finally) make my list!
At my signal unleash HELL!
Say it! Say matte!
No retreat no surrenderrrrrr!
'The Ides Of March' #1, hmmm. I thought it was mediocre at best. Interesting take.
The only one I've seen is Tree of Life and I loved it although it is a very dividing movie.
Ides of March is possibly the year's best picture.
J. Edgar is one that one might or might not like. I liked it for the history that it was.
See Warrior. You might very well re-edit your Top 10.
i want to be Stanley Tucci too. i would like to be Daniel Day Lewis but i'd much rather watch him try to be me, only because i know he'd do it and get an oscar for it or something
@Lelek Coriolanus, Take Shelter, and War Horse are the only ones I'm not sure of. I picked Coriolanus because it's the Weinsteins and they always fucking get their way. I didn't do Harry Potter or Hugo because they're kids movies and those are rarely nominated. Didn't do Contagion or Tinker Tailor because they look like they could go either way and they're coming out in September. The rest of those movies were all on this list at some point but I had to cut it to 10 :P
oh War Horse will definitely be nominated. C'mon it's the one movie I'm most sure of

Yeah August is never usually the best month... but January/September are always the worst.

Damn this is a nice list idea i want to one of these. Mine would have drive at number one take shelter at 2.
I like that there's 2 Ryan Gosling movies, 2 Matt Damon movies, and 2 George Clooney movies on my list.
#3 I am so excited for this to come out! I hate to wish time to pass, but this movie has got me on edge!
Captain America gets some respect. That's outstanding.
And, the Adjustment Bureau was that good, eh? I might have to see it.
A lot of people didn't like Adjustment Bureau but I can't understand why. I really didn't like the ending, but the rest of the movie is fantastic.
Based on a list by cerealkiller182

Speak for yourself lady!! My.. what's the word? Feeet! Are almost perfect.
Can you imagine the hate comments I'd get if I posted a video of myself picking something up with my foot? I'm going to pass. lol
The trailer didn't really do much for me either, but I'm still hoping that the combination of Ford, Craig, and Favreau will give me something awesome.
Based on a list by Psycho-Pirate-99
@writer I just imagine in a Fincher movie the Riddler would be a lot like the Zodiac killer in Zodiac.
Haha I thought this said the best of January Jones for a minute. I had to do a double take. Adjustment Bureau is a very good film with an unfortunately unattractive title.
TJ - I thought so too! (January Jones, I mean)
Vitman - I just realized Source Code, X-MFC, Thor and Super 8 are all on my top ten for the year also.
Adjustment Bureau number one. nice. I loved it when I saw it, need to give it another watch

I have 3 of his movies sitting on my Netflix instant queue right now... just haven't quite had the time to watch them
I guess I saw The Birds ages ago and didn't appreciate it at the time
Cool list but seriously experience the hitchock. Check his movies and also if you have netflix on a console to watch films on demand they now have the entire Alfred Hitchcock presents series on there and every single episode is brilliant. Give it a look.

russians can be very ingenious when it comes to alcohol, especially if they were chemistry students
can we all agree that popcorn at the movie theater is not just a snack, its an obligation
Based on a list by cerealkiller182
All lists like this are exactly the same, only they alternate the first two back and forth. But beyond the second placing, the last 3 are identical on every list.

I agree, I stopped reading Palahniuk after this one. It felt more like an amateur aping his style rather than the man himself.
I didn't really like Rant up until the ending. If you made it all the way through the book, it's completely worth it. It's my favorite of his books now.
I can never hear the Star Wars theme song without thinking of Star Wars, but that's just me. :P totally agree with all of these though!!

very cool list eheheh i agree with it but are rare women like this :(
@darkvampire- I think more women who fit this criteria exist than you think...

Only midnight showing I ever went to was Transformers 2. And I Haven't regretted it.
I feel like I'm definitely forgetting some... but these are the only ones I can remember.

These are pretty surprising man, but in a good way. Kudos for the "Saw," "Survivor," and "How to train your dragon" Love! I'm there with ya too.
Seriously, if a good Survivor movie is never made, I'm going to be pissed. And then I'll make it myself. lol
I've never seen any of the Fast and Furious movies. I just don't think I'd like them. I've also never seen any of the Scream movies, although I'm not sure why not. It just never happened. Nobody was ooh-ing and ahh-ing over them by the time I was old enough to see them.

thanks :) haha it just came to me... because it's literally the most shocked I've ever been at a movie

Did you know mr Vitamanman that outside of staff people, you were the first to comment one of my post... so props for that.
And fuck that bitch Carmody
was I really? nice! and thanks for remembering that. I don't remember who first commented on one of my posts...

agree about Winter's Bone. I thought the acting was solid, but the story just wasn't that interesting to me
idk what's with me and endings lately, but the ending to the kids are all right was HORRIBLE, completly ruined the entire movie...winter's bone is the exact opposite, solid beggining boring middle AMAZING ending

Number 1. "Meester son of bitch...let's play some cahrds." I love it!
Don't be too harsh. I liked almost half of these...
#5 and 7 really worked for me. I loved the experience I had for Alice In Wonderland...I was sober not under the influence of anything either lol
I thought RE: Afterlife was cool in 3D and the best one since the first one. Not a complete waste IMO
and Dinner For Schmucks had a few good laughs.
4,6,10 were all disappointments though.
I can see people having liked 7, but I thought it was extremely uneven and cliched and cheesy... see my review if you want to find out more lol. I actually own the DVD for RE: Afterlife... because as much as I'm embarrassed by it, I still get some semblance of enjoyment out of it. Generally in an Awfully Good sense.
dinner for schmucks makes me so frustrated that jermaine clement isn't in enough movies
I only saw 4...the only one I'm going to defend is The Last Song. I ate that shit up lol I think I'm biased though since I have a crush on that freshly 18 year-old Miley Cyrus ;)
Jesus, I didn't realize how many (horrifically) bad movies came out this year.
Based on a list by Psycho-Pirate-99
What kind of people are asking you that question? Is it old people? Or is it people who absolutely SHOULD know what blu-ray is? Because that would annoy me. Anyone under 35 should have some knowledge of the technology.
At the beginning of december I was so sure I'd have Inception or Toy Story 3 in the #1 but some friggin awesome flicks came through this month. Especially Black Swan.
^^ditto. I already had Inception at number 1 but its now about 3 or 4.

Both of those Toy Story 3 scenes are now in my honorable mentions lol
@darthpaul I know a few people who hated that scene as well. I adore it because of its cheesy awesomeness.
Great list. The Jeffery scene was really funny, and Inception's scene was incredible. For Toy Story 3, the incinerator scene was incredibly effective. That and the ending had me choked up.
@darthpaul well, there you go again, making me look like a fool lol
@lordtyler It got bumped down a little because Four Lions and Animal Kingdom showed up on the list. But it wold be at... I think about #12 right now, following How to Train Your Dragon.
Haha sorry man, just wanting to put it on my list! I think that one qualifies more than A Prophet...but yeah.
I may even give a 11-20...I wouldn't be mad if you did either.
Good list tho, I thought DEFENDOR was technically a 2009 release. There are a few movies that are on the edge, like A PROPHET...the states didnt get a chance to see it til this year, but it was nominated for best foreign language film last year...
Because of that, I'm counting A Prophet as last year. Otherwise that would be near the top of this list. And you're probably right about Defendor... List edited!
Oh okay, so it was #11 ;)
Yeah I would like to include Defendor, it kinda got the shaft of being lost last year and only coming out on DVD this year...
and its the THE KIDS ARE ALL RIGHT
sorry for critiquing, but it will only make you look better lol

The only one I read was haunted, which was really good, it (pun intended) haunted me after I read it, showing the depavity of humans
Yeah, it should be noted that I absolutely love every single one of these, except for Tell-All, which I merely "liked." I felt like it could have been awesome with a few more revisions.
Nice list. If I could swap someone or extend it to 11, I would add Ridley Scott.
Yeah, one of them is the genius who wrote/directed There Will Be Blood, Boogie Nights, and Magnolia, and the other one made Mortal Kombat and the Resident Evil movies.

Black Sheep was so awesome!!! Teeth just made me laugh my ass off, like oh my. When we had that in our pre-street box at Blockbuster, whilst working there. I pulled it out, read the back, and was like you have GOT to be kidding me. I must watch.
oh and I wouldn't consider TEETH a horrible, terrible movie... it's just awesome.
i always thought red dog was the coolest thing when I was little bc i had a bulldog, haha that shit is turrible, god damn plank road brewery
#5 explains your moniker, which sounds really cool. Have you posted any of your work? As for #2, I was just like you, and it eventually happened. You're young, and you have plenty of time until it happens, and it definitely will! :-)
And, finally, #6 makes complete sense after reading #7. You've, technically, have already traveled some.
Good list, man. Thanks for sharing.
I guess I shouldn't be surprised that MFC people would agree with me on #6. I just always thought I was alone in that sentiment.
And I figured everyone would be curious where my name came from. Vitaman is as much a part of me as I am.

Interesting list man...but I gotta say that i thought Yoda was always high in the Holy Trilogy...I feel like that fog bank where he was training Luke was half weed smoke anyway.....how else could Luke see Vader in the cave and it ended up being him? Contact High like a Mofo. lol
Funny pic Psycho BTW!!
Sick list man. Nice to see C. Method on there. I was contemplating about them and Chemical Brothers. My metal side won out. Five Finger is rapidly growing on me as well. and FUCK. I forgot to put up Mudvayne. Shit.
Anyone that puts The Hives' B&W album, Kaiser Chiefs Employment and Dropkick's gets my respect. You sir have excellent musical taste

The delustional nightmare sequences in Jacob's Ladder, although the whole movie is *SLIGHT SPOILER* pretty much a dream .
Is it weird to say that the dolly shot of the germans getting dominated was one of the most beautiful things ever put to film?
hahaha not at all. Although my problem with that shot was that the people fell over in the exact order the dolly was moving. It just bothered me that they didn't all die at the same time.
spider-man fourth reboot, thats funny and annoying because it might be true.
I do love me some Hot Tub Time Machine... but for some reason it doesn't feel right putting it on the list.
Oh you're a clever one sir.
For me, Alien Trilogy. I like it better than the original STAR WARS trilogy as the best in sci-fi to be quite honest.
don't go dissing the theatrical LOTR's... that's dozens of oscars right there
Side Effects didn't look very good but I've heard good things about it. Did you like it better than Contagion?
