Is it weird that Cabin in the Woods and Prometheus are my most anticipated movies of the year right now? I'm pumped for everything else, too, but those are the movies that when I think about them I'm just like "HOLY FUCK YES I CAN'T WAIT!"
I would say Prometheus and Dark Knight Rises are mine. I'm not completely sold on Cabin in the Woods yet. I'll admit the trailers make it look awesome (as do a lot of film trailers), but mainstream horror movies almost always suck. Also fuck all this stupid snow white bullshit.
It's not really a "mainstream" horror movie. Joss Whedon doesn't do mainstream. Avengers is an exception only because it's the goddamn Avengers and he'd have to have been crazy not to take that job.
I am insanely excited for Prometheus. And I'm really looking forward to Cabin in the Woods. I'm doing my absolute best to avoid any previews/spoilers/anything until I see them.
You're probably right and I probably used the wrong word, because by the preview it doesn't look at all mainstream it's just that it is advertised so heavily it makes me think "mainstream". I'll see it regardless, maybe not in theaters but eventually.
Hell yeah that Cabin in the Woods looks really good though.
