Richard Kelly delivers yet another crazy sci-fi movie, this time with less flying twins or evil bunnies. Considering his other works, this is incredibly straightforward. The ethical dilemma is simple, yet very interesting, and I liked all of the characters a lot more than I thought I would. Of course, the aftermath of pressing the button is where Richard Kelly really lets loose, unleashing confusion and sci-fi insanity like nothing you've ever seen. While some people didn't like how it strayed from the world it set up, I had a general idea of where it was going, and enjoyed it far more because of it. The implications of fate and choice are explored, as well as the overall nature of humanity. It's probably not as deep as I'm making it sound, but it's enjoyable, and at the very least, thought-provoking. It's not nearly as complicated or as 'up for interpretation' as Donnie Darko was, but it's certainly as entertaining.
