Review:

'Saw VI" goes political-and it works! After the last two installments I was starting to lose faith in the convulted yet oddly intelligent and intriguing horror series of my day. Though those films did not stand alone well on their own, they contribute well to the purpose of this sixth film. As for the political stuff, we get a lesson on how the health care system is all backwards because of the insurance companies which ties nicely into Jigsaw having cancer and as a valid reason to put these people through the scrutiny that they go through. The twist is not as strong, but it makes sense, more sense than some of the others and this film finally ties most of the loose ends together which makes for a satisfying movie. The series also seems to regain its credit for intelligent ways of not only killing people but reminding the audience why jigsaw does what he does in the first place. That it is all about principle, making the world right, even if this is the most backwards way to accomplish it. The point i'm making is that 'Saw VI' makes a point and though we have all the gore and blood a "saw" film should have, this installment goes past that and really tests the characters in question instead of simply killing them in cool traps. Im guessing they will make another...probably set-up a new series all together for the Hoffman character especially if this one makes money, but I wouldn't complain if this was the last we saw of "Saw'.
