Interview: A Tale in Gifs
She opened up her email, hoping and praying that maybe today they would answer, even if it was another denial, anything would be better than this. Her finger twitched on her mouse when she saw the new bolded message, but she hesitated, could be good could be bad...After a few seconds of fear and contemplation she clicked. A smile spread across her face as she saw the words "interview"...

Her excitement grows as the days pass, but then doubt starts to creep in, little thoughts at first but then they become overwhelming and her skin crawls. The what ifs start to pop up, the what's the point, everything is swirling and crashing...
The walls close in, the self doubt, the panic is too strong. Can't wait any longer, the anticipation is...

Whew, well the day has finally come. She picks out her best outfit, the one she holds aside just for days like these, and yet when she looks in this mirror she sees something disturbing...

Breathe she repeats, just breathe.

She gets to the offices, they appear far more monolithic than they should, rising up as if with each step they just get bigger and more terrifying. She walks into the elevator, mirrors surround her. The woman looking back is petrified but no she won't let the paranoia and past failures win. She looks at the face and demands that it show only confidence.

She's early again, always too damn early, now she must wait some more. She stares at the wall, seconds tick by...

and then minutes, she starts to wonder if they forgot about her...

Then she hears the footsteps of someone, they get closer and closer. She turns, the interviewer greets her...

The interviewer takes her to a room that seems too far away, will the waiting never end? They go into a room, nothing too scary, okay she can do this. She sits and then feels awkward under the gaze of the woman across from her.

Then the worst part starts, the questions. She knew they were coming, prepared, over prepared and got ready. But then after she asks "So, tell me about yourself." Shit, she expects and answer, then the girl's mouth opens and...

Okay, well at least that first one is out of the way. Whew. Now, she knows she has the rest, just gotta spit back everything she memorized. "So what are your strengths, what can you offer us?"

The girl's confidence grows but she has no idea why. She wants this job, needs it, deserves it! The interviewer asks "So, you think you can do this?"

The interviewer thanks her, leads her to the exit. She is so elated with how she did she let's herself out...

She gets into the elevator, a smile spreading across her face. She sees the reflection of a proud, confident woman. She nods to that woman.

The building isn't as big as she leaves, in fact she feels like it is just the right size. She walks outside and all the doubt is gone, she knows she kicked ass.

On the bus ride home however, the doubts start again. Dammit.

And the vicious cycle of waiting, doubting and waiting some more starts all over again.

Chillin'This is what happens when you are paid to sit on your ass and hit the refresh button all day. The Job Offer: A Tale may come next, I hope.
Been there many times, and my recent job was the most satisfying when I got that phone call of "you got the job."
The anxiety of waiting sucks, but keep your head up and things will go your way!!!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Quite a tale there. Don't like the cliffhanger ending though, I want to know more.
