Review:

This movie has been out for many years at this point, so there's no need to go into great depths for this. Chances are if you are in high school, or have recently completed it, then you've likely seen this movie and already have your own opinion about it.

This movie (if not slightly removed from the hey-day) is one of a slew of movies that came out when I was in high school that are necessary viewing at that time of your life (i.e. American Pie, Road Trip, Cruel Intentions, 10 Things I Hate About You).

The cast is all around likeable, with Jacob Pitts and Scott Mechlowicz being the best as far as I can tell...which makes sense, since they get the most screen time. Michelle Trachtenberg and Jessica Boehrs (and maybe Kristin Kreuk to a lesser extent) act as the eye candy and love interests. Some very hilarious guest appearances are made by some top-shelf actors - Matt Damon as frontman for a band, Vinnie Jones as an English soccer hooligan, Lucy Lawless as the proprietor and head mistress of a Dutch sex club, Diedrich Bader as a Dutch mugger, Mindy Sterling and Jeffrey Tambor.

The comedy is a fairly straight forward road movie, and the situations the main cast find themselves in are not too far outside the realm of possibilities (maybe excluding the whole Pope/Vatican scenario). This keeps the movie fairly grounded and adds a little more depth to the characters as they are developed.

Definitely still stands as one of my favourite comedies from my youth and I feel it stands among the best of the best for the high school/teen comedy sub-genre.
