Kong: Skull Island was a fun movie to sit through. John C. Reilly is actually one of the best parts of the film. The monsters in the movie looked really cool and King Kong himself had a pretty damn good design. The monster fights were pretty fucking cool. It had a wonderful soundtrack. It is better than Godzilla (2014.) Kong was fun, but pretty flawed. The characters were not interesting,, at all. I don't even remember their names. They were just cut-out characters. Some were likeable, some were just meh and some I didn't really care for. The movie had such a great and talented cast of actors, but they were given cut-out characters that aren't interesting, or even memorable. The only character I really liked was Reilly's character. Kong is more monstrous and the film shows us Kong's vicious side and caring side. I still think Peter Jackson's King Kong is a far better film. For me, the original is still the best of all the Kong films out their. Overall, it was pretty damn fun and funny at some points. It's characters was the film's biggest flaw. Their all generic characters we have seen before. I still like to see John Goodman on screen since I fucking love John Goodman in anything he's in. The MonsterVerse is okay so far, I hope that the next Godzilla movie will be better than its predecessor. Godzilla and Kong will finally face off in 2020 and it better not disappoint.
