As far as morally bankrupt , reprehensible , vile Films go , '' A SERBIAN FILM '' is King Shit of Turd Island .
Srdjan Spasojevic's justly reviled , muay controversial film about a porn star's desperate attempt to live a better life with his young Family , only to accept an ill-advised final role , is a thoroughly depressing , heart wrenching , sadistic slice of Shock Cinema .
Milos is a former Porn Superstar , noted for his impressive , and never ending erections . He's approached by a former co-star , and told of a lucrative one film deal , and Milos' dreams of leaving this life behind have him agreeing .
The viewer is asked to sit through some of the most mind numbing violence , you'll ever be asked to endure , with a line-up that features necrophilia , pedophilia , brutal rape , physical violence at a level unto itself , and straight up murder .
It would be very easy to dismiss '' A SERBIAN FILM '' as more cheap , disgusting exploitation at a level that yours truly can never seem to sit through , it usually takes 3 or 4 sit downs to weed through crap like that . But I honestly believe the filmmakers had everything together with the best intentions in mind , but felt compelled to go far further than need be , to garner more attention . Obviously no one has ever told them less is more . Think of opening up a Model car kit , and throwing away the instructions . In the end , you'll still have a 57 Chevy , people will still stop to take a look , but you won't get the reaction you wanted .
The film looks excellent , boasts superb camera work , has outstanding dialogue , and believable , sympathetic characters along with some you'd gut at the drop of a hair .
The violent , stunning , action is extremely believable , but would have been far better served if some scenes were ' finished ' off camera .
'' A SERBIAN FILM '' is a grueling watch , and it's one of those films that , good or bad ,you will NEVER forget .
