'' THE SHRINE '' - A Review
Aaron Ashmore , Cindy Sampson and Meghan Heffern star in '' THE SHRINE '' a tale of two small time Journalists who con their way into investigating the fate of a missing American Tourist , along with a duped photographer Boyfriend , in a small Polish Village .Once the trio arrive , they are shunned by the majority of the Village outside of a young girl named Lidia , who takes them to the last place their American ' friend ' was seen . Weirdness ensues .
The folks behind '' THE SHRINE '' started out with good intentions , a grisly opening sequence , a pretty sweet scene involving a statue , and some eye candy for both sexes , Identical Twin(gotta be )Aaron Ashmore for the Ladies , and the sweet bodied Cindy Sampson for the Dudes .
Unfortunately , outside of Ashmore , the Characters are pretty cardboard-ish , the secrets are somewhat silly , and the majority of the final sequence is in Polish , although I'm not sure that a proper translation would have helped this mess .
There's some decent gore , the aforementioned statue sequence , but that's pretty much it . This is pretty much nothing more than a time waster .
