Review:

If you want 90 minutes of popcorn action, "From Paris With Love" should fit the bill. The movie is a fast-paced action comedy with some surprises. It's not one of the best action flicks of all time, but it's still worth watching.

It's easy to see John Travolta is had a blast making this movie. As the bad-boy agent Charlie Wax, his over-the-top performance is amusingly cheesy, offering some really funny moments. Rhys-Meyers plays the straight-man role effectively, and even has a funny moment involving a drug.

Director Pierre Morel keeps the film going throughout. While some of the action is muddled due to choppy editing, he still can execute good action as he's shown in the 2008's "Taken", even infusing some comedy into it (the spiral staircase scene is very well-done). The film has a big twist near the finale that was refreshing and caught me off guard.

"From Paris With Love" is a pretty decent action flick. You have laughs, fights, shootouts, explosions, and a twist for an enjoyable viewing. Plus, the sight of bald, goatee-d John Travolta chewing the scenery. That alone is amusing.
