I must. The podcast review show I listen to is making it a part of their DC/SUPERMAN retrospective going on right now. After STEEL, I'll only have GREEN LANTERN left as the sole DC movie to watch. If anything, at least LANTERN should fare a lot better by comparison.

nice, War of the Worlds rocked!! Enjoyed Bobby as well, and The Nines is FANTASTIC!
Like Cochise, I believe that Bobby merits mention. Perhaps, a person should watch it with some baby-boomers, if any are available.
The Village is the right movie for the right audience. I liked it. A person agrees that it resembles a brilliant modern-day Twilight Zone episode.

I thought 1 was surprisingly funny. I didn't get the hate, one of the better comedies of the year. Rude, crude fun. Really dug 7 as well, but the rest not so much. Flight was solid but pretty overrated

Good choices! A Danny Boyle Bond movie would be beautiful. I would also like to see John Woo make one and see Bond with two guns :)
Danny Boyle seems like the perfect choice what with the Olympics and all... but I can see him being a pretty picky director and am not sure if he'd want to do a sequel to a massive franchise... who knows, would love to see it though!
Tom Hooper is awesome, but he really hasn't done any action at all so it'd be kind of a huge leap
Carnahan would be awesome, but he'd probably drop out of it just like he did Mission Impossible 3 (same goes for Vaughn haha)

No. 3 - I wouldn't quite put both of them in the same league.
PROMETHEUS may be disappointing and overrated but, ALIEN RESURRECTION is just.......a cinematic abomination. It is the BATMAN & ROBIN of the ALIEN franchise.
I think both not good films for their seperate reasons but in some ways they are on the level.

Based on a list by JohnLocke2342
7 - love the play and novella, but I really did not like the movie. They screwed up.
Still have to catch Martha

I just saw LOOPER, overall I dug it but you're far more generous to it than I. My list would have spots no. 2 and 7 switch places.

#8 Do it! A person should watch and read a lot. But, he should also create a lot.
#7 We Schmoes all have pretty good piles of books and disks going at times. But, that situation might be good. The pile indicates that we have lives beyond just watching and discussing movies.

I just watched No. 4, and thought it was pretty good.
You'll get no argument from me about 1 and 7!
agree on 1 but 3? Well I disagree, but more than anything I don't get it... I mean there weren't very many people who even saw it, and those that did seemed pretty split rating wise heh
Based on a list by horrorfan23
Holy shit! I didn't realize how many films there are to see in 2013 until I saw your list. Well done, sir!
Dude! We're going to have a lot to discuss in the arriving year. Your list is rather close to my list too. Superhero, horror, and Oscar contenders are what I watch in a given year as well.
Based on a list by VitamanMan8
Awesome choices good sir. You have a lot of movies that are my #2 or #3 of the year. And then there's this year with The Master. I still don't know what to make of that movie. I'll probably buy the bluray and watch it like 5 more times before I decide whether or not I actually like it lol

1 hell yeah, he deserves some recognition for that, though I doubt he'll get it
2 so stoked... man the wait to see this one is killin me! Got #9 sitting here to watch hopefully this weekend
Amy Adams was terrific - the line she has near the end is the best in the film as far as I'm concerned-

COOL! We plan to see mostly the same movies before year's end. December is especially rich with best pictures. I might watch Lincoln this afternoon, or I might stay home and re-watch The Avengers. If a person lived in Nebraska, he might watch Lincoln all of the time.
can't wait to see 4 myself and really looking forward to 9. 10 looks interesting too. Def check out #8 asap man!

Based on a list by JohnLocke2342

nice choices man love 2, 4, 16 and 19 (though I consider that a comedy) and actually forgot about 7 til now, yikes! Thanks for the reminder, gotta go fix my list now lol
I haven't see 3. 5. 6. and 8. I am glad to see your number one, it is a controversial film in many aspects. The first film I saw about him was Shallow Grave, such a freaking great movie, it put his name on my memory and after that he has become one of my favorites.

Twixt was only 2/10? I wanted to see it but can't find it anywhere.
It's been released in some parts of the world but not in the U.S. yet.

#10 Exorcist II: The Heretic is one of the few films that I have never watched to the end. Yeah, the sequel is very, very, very bad. It sucks cocks in hell.
#3 The Keep has at least one prominent problem. The creature effects are not very good. In particular, the scary monster has glowing that are those '80s novelty glasses that Flavor Flav wears in "Rapture." Such shitty effects will take a viewer out of the horror experience. They really will.

3 and 5 for sure... not just because I want to see them remade myself but also because I've honestly never seen or even heard of the others ones on the list =p
I would love a Dead Heat remake. They could do so much with the zombie buddy cop motif.

Its is an Italian 20th-century genre of literature and film, which in Italian indicates crime fiction and mystery (a.k.a. anything by Dario Argento lol).

#8 Good call. Many moviefans will forget that El Wray is there. But yes, he belongs on a bad-ass list.

cool list idea man, think I'll give it a spin as well!
The Fly is amazing that's for damn sure! And I dig Cabin Fever a lot surprisingly as well, good flick
Based on a list by tbondrage99

honestly only one line comes to my mind and it's not on this list, though the movie is. These are great lines, but the only line I can think of that was scary was in The Ring (Verbinski's) when you thought the movie was over and then the kid talks to Naomi Watts and is like 'you saved her? you weren't supposed to save her' I was like fuuuuuuuuuuuuck AHHHH haha nice list though

5 - agree, could've been a classic character if they actually handled the franchise properly... they just like forgot about it after 2...

Your favorite No. 1, just so happens my most despised.
Otherwise, I'm pretty much with the rest of this.
You are, more than welcome to continue believing in that......sir.
HALLOWEEN 6 P-Cut FTW!

I envy you. These were all amazing experiences with varying degrees. Number 8 was a real let down. Number 10 is god fucking awful. The rest are just wonderful.

I thought SHARK NIGHT was a solid waste of 90 minutes . Glad you could find it's charm as well . The original '' WHEN A STRANGER CALLS '' , has one of the most frightening 30 minutes I've ever seen .

No. 10 may not be as pure horror as the others, but I still find it the scariest.
7 is the only I've never seen.

Grindhouse was not a commercial success. However, the film appealed beautifully to its niche audience. And furthermore, the R-T project had an impact. Grindhouse-era re-releases are all over the place now.
This hasn't been a great decade for horror...I don't think I could name ten that I enjoyed.
@grelber37: Actually, Tarantino was fueling grindhouse re-releases years before Grindhouse was released, but you are correct that the movie was influential though not a success.
@G-Funk: Oh man completely disagree. It was a great decade for horror. I could do a top ten easily.

nice! Heartless was a good flick! Very original and cool, horror with a fantasy edge (though I guess that is a part of many horror films)
Fido is unique and funny, refreshing for a movie of that specific genre.
Pontypool is very cool, perhaps even more unique than Heartless... so trippy and different!

Wolf Creek was decent but the only one I actually liked out of all of these was Daybreakers, that was damn good. Still gotta see 2 though

I get what you're saying Bede, and what you're line of thinking is...
My perspective is, because of how iconic and noteworthy the original(in this case ANOES) was, the disparity in quality makes it THAT much worse. Despite seeming to be more competently made than those other ones you listed.
@YoshioKun13 I see your point and I agree but I just hated this ones much more lol.

I'd throw the 1st HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL movie up there too. I like it much more than the original Vincent Price one.
@YoshioKun13 Good call! I like that one as well. That would be an honourable mention.
No. 18 should be the No. 1 choice for that day on anyone's list who hasn't seen that movie.

So cool to see The Voyage Home so high on the list. I love that one.
Based on a list by zombie_bro
I saw it when I was a little kid, but I don't really remember much from it. I think it is time for a rewatch lol.
Has a great Danny Elfman score.
There aren't too many of those these days...

Based on a list by wallcrawler383

you are being oh so generous with This Means War haha. Agreed on the Amazing Spider-Man, though I have it at a 4.
Nice list. Won't be seeing most of these films because I figured they were crap from the door.
Spider Man, you know who you are.

I would've too myself, but I unfortunately haven't seen them yet :-(
I'd rather see 1, 2, 3, 7, 8 than TASM2.
I absolutely loved Clerks 2 but honestly don't really have any desire to see a sequel oddly enough. Same can be said for #9.
But a PROMETHEUS sequel is easily my most anticipated sequel out there bar none so I gotta disagree on that one man, there isn't a single sequel out there that I'd rather see at the moment.
As much as I love the Departed, I don't think a sequel could be good. The whole reason I love the movie is because of the characters, and well... you know. The least interesting character is the only one left alive and what is he going to do next? I don't find myself all that interested.
The Departed is a remake of a film that was turned in to a trilogy. So if they decided on a sequel, it wouldn't be that big a deal.

I didn't think AVATAR was terrible by any means, BUT...
When I take into account his other sci-fi work(ALIENS, TERMINATOR, THE ABYSS), I know Cameron can do better! And hopefully, he will.
Based on a list by JohnLocke2342

nice, I was disappointed with #3 though, it looked so cool but kind of let down in the end. Solid flick though still.
Excited to see 7, 9, 11, 12 and 15
@Cochise You mean "The Hunt" starring Mads Mikkelsen or a different Hunt? The one with Mads is the one I'll be watching lol.

Note: I've completely forgotten about Nicky Katt's cameo in TDK! So I've updated the list to include him lol.

Rise of the Machines is fun, and I do think Alien 3 gets shit on a little too much.
Based on a list by Terminal_83
Based on a list by Terminal_83

The most shocking thing to me on this list is that Alien 3 is a 9/10.
I think what Terror is trying to say is that, because PROMETHEUS actually had the potential to be a great movie to him, it's serious sci-fi and most of the elements were so well-done, that to fall as short as it did was way more of a disappointment.
The other ones? You can't take 'em seriously at all, they're a complete loss. They're Asylum movies basically. So if one can take them on those terms, they're not quite as much of a fail. Maybe even enjoyable, just as he's cited AVP to be.
@VitamanMan8 To be honest I found "Alien 3" to be a far more satisfying, emotional and thematically richer than the entirety of "Prometheus".
@Yoshio Right on the money!

FIGHT CLUB will always be his best to me.
Really, 9 movies and not one suckfest in the entire bunch.

god DAMMIT I keep forgetting about Animal Kingdom... well, guess I'll add that to my all-day movie-watching lineup tomorrow lol

Crocodile Dundee lied to me? I'LL GET YOU FOR THIS PAUL HOGAN! YOU, AND ONE DAY YOUR HEIRS!

No "X-Men:First Class"? or prior "X-Men" films? My Marvel Studios top shelf film thus far, would be- "THOR"
Ah true. Kinda like w/ "Conan" in this case predates Marvel's adaptation.

Strongly agree with #3 and #8. And yeah #9 too.
And I do like the Resident Evil movies but I know they're horrible and can't really defend them too strongly.
Based on a list by LegendarySuit

Sorry I'm late with last week's one too lol. Week 4 plus what I watched on Halloween will be up in a few days.

I really like Prince of Darkness. More flicks need Liquid Satan!
Based on a list by SuperMarcey
@Terror - The most ironic thing I find is that the one from 1991 was in 3D, and the newer one wasn't. How odd.

Everyone can do #2 (heh, that sounds like a japanese children's book about pooping)
I've heard some of them and good stuff man :D

Really liked # 1, 5, 6, and 7. Hated #11. #10 was good at first but got too weird.

'' CIGARETTE BURNS '' was my fave as well . I thought '' DREAMS IN THE WITCH HOUSE ''' and '' PICK ME UP '' were excellent as well . Good list .
Based on a list by tbondrage99
To me they're all great in their own way to me. The one thing that always bothered me is the fact that Stallone never received an oscar for his portrayal of Rocky. It's a brilliant, complicated, demanding performance that no other actor could have done any better.
HOLY SHIT! We finally agree 100% on something, looks like you aren't so terrible after all. =)
Based on a list by horrorfan23

I actually did know about 1, 3, 5, and 6. The rest I was completely in the dark about.
I just cannot say enough about The Shield. There is a point where you think "oh this show is pretty much done" and than it saves itself. Walton Goggins should have been up of best Supporting Actor the last 2 or 3 seasons.
If anyone wants to know the reason why I haven't gotten around to watching them, the answer is simple...Movies. They take up too much of my time these days lol.

Alien 3 gets a 2.5/5 at best. I would give Panic Room a 3/5. I think Zodiac & Se7en are his two best films.
braveheart would be higher for me, and i think american beauty lower. after repeated viewings, i don't think i'm as impressed with it. but yeah i do agree that the 90s were a great time for film

Mark L. Lester could do it as well, he hasn't directed anything for a while. he made Commanod and Showdown In Little Tokyo.

You're overrated! THIS WHOLE COURTROOM IS OVERRATED!
Overrated is such a loose term nowadays.. one has to ask, overrated by who? But anyway, I like Superbad, L.A. Confidential, Hatchet, Four Lions, Sympathy for Lady Vengeance, Blowup, Enter the Dragon, love The Piano
I should clarify that the films between 15-25 I did like but I didn't think they were as great or amazing as everyone made them out to be. The rest I didn't like.
I completely agree with you on SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE (I'll never understand how the hell this beat SAVING PRIVATE RYAN) and THE FRENCH CONNECTION (Good film, but not deserving of an Oscar for Best Picture).

you could sell whip cream wrestling tickets to that lineup for a million bucks-

Damn, reading your list, I realize there are lots of great flicks still to see for me too. I have seen however 6, 19 and 20, and they're all great, especially Enter the Void, which totally blew me away.

E.T. and The Lion King are on mine as well. Others on your list I'll rebuy will be Who Framed Roger Rabbit, The Incredibles & Princess Mononoke.

I didn't hate it, I just thought that it was pretty average. It's watchable but I felt it was trying too hard to make itself into a 'cult' film.
YAY you liked Last Exorcism! GOOD! Funny we've got the same film as number 1 hehe we rock!
Sorry it took me so long to post this up. I was suposse to have this up on Monday but I had been so busy with a couple of things the last couple days that didn't have a chance to.
I share your thoughts on THE EVIL DEAD. It's a solid, highly entertaining horror flick and directorial debut from Raimi, but I also think EVIL DEAD II and especially ARMY OF DARKNESS are superior installments in the ED trilogy.

Not a picture on this here list ain't worth the sugar in a diet coke.
(means damn good list)

From your list, these are the ones I haven't seen either..
5. Empire Of The Sun
9. Malcolm X
10. The Killing Fields
13. Nashville
14. Frankenstein (1931)
15. The Wolf Man (1941)
19. Duel
I love the old 30's-40's an 50's, Universal monster movies -BUT! I find most all Monster,Superhero, etc. origin stories a drag...So the two listed..meh. Most everything after those two origin films- rock on!
Good list my man, the only ones I've seen are Casino and Beauty and the Beast and i prefer Beauty and the beast.
Additional ones i havent seen, anything by hitchcock, raging bull, cape fear, taxi driver, edward scissorhands, any of the godfather films, close encounters, serpico, breakfast at tiffanys, anything by kubrick, apocalypse now and citizen kane and anything by kirosawa. Probably plenty more. Yet I own Looney Tunes Back in Action. Should I just scrap my MFC membership now?
I enjoyed Freddy's Dead, but otherwise, that's a pretty solid shit list.
IT APPEARS YOU'VE GOT SOME KINDA' BEEF WITH SHAQUILLE O'NEAL !!(GOOD FOR YOU,LADDY !!)KUDOS FOR THROWIN' KREUGER TO THE WOLVES !! PISS ON HIM, GET A REAL JOB !!NICELY DONE, MR.TERROR !!
YOU SUCK FOR THAT NUMBER 1, BOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! Thats why I call you terrible :p
Don't do it Yoshio, for the love of God spare yourself that pain before it's too late.
