Child's Play 3

Imagine my excitement as a child when I saw the VHS box at the rental store for Child's Play 3 after what seemed like only months after the 2nd one. I was going to get to see another one. Chucky was quickly becoming my horror villain the same way others had Jason or Freddy or Michael. At the age of probably 11 at this point Chucky had built up a lot of good will from me and I thought that this one would be as good as the others. Why would I think other wise? I was only 11 after all.

Unfortunately even as an 11 year old I knew when a movie was shit and all the good will that the first two had built up and flushed it all down the crapper by part 3. Was the kid who played Andy in the first two no longer available? If not why are you putting the movie 8 years later. This movie did a complete turn around from the other movies but not in a good way in fact every change they decided to make was a bad one.

Andy as a 16 year old doesn't work. Andy in a boot camp doesn't work. Andy taking care of a kid and taking the fight to Chucky doesn't work. Why couldn't Andy of been the child that Chucky was after in this movie while anther kid who was 16 looked after him? Its all bullshit and just doesn't work.

I guess every slasher series needs to have a movie in the series thats absolute shit it almost seems like a rule of the genre. Child's Play 3 is that movie for this series and was so bad that I think it pretty much killed off the Child's Play title for good since when the next one eventually came out they changed the title to put it under the Chucky banner.

Child's Play 3 is garbage and should be avoided at all costs. I give it a 2 out of 10.
