Review:

I was really looking forward to Mel Gibson's grand return to the big screen, the directing was fine I liked Apocalypto a lot but I didn't care about The Passion of the Christ enough to even watch it, as far as his personal life? Who cares its the mans personal life as far as I'm considered he can do whatever the hell he wants and if hes calling asshole reporters asshole then all the better. That said this is what I have been waiting for for years Mel Gibson, the actor back on the big screen. I guess the lesson here is be careful what you wish for.

The story was ok at best but I found myself looking at my watch several times throughout this movie which is never a good thing because quite frankly looking at my watch once when I go to see a movie on the big screen is one time to many. Speaking of something that's not a good thing, Mel Gibson's attempt at a Boston accent was just brutal. Every time he opened his mouth I rolled my eyes, he can't pull it off so he shouldn't of tried.

So for me Mel's return to the big screen was unfortunate at best and pretty underwhelming. Here's hoping his next movie will be better then this outing and if not, well I guess there's always Apocalypto 2 right?
