Started watching the first season of ENLIGHTENED tonight. What a pleasant surprise this has been. If you need a good series to get into, this is one to catch. It's definitely flawed, but Laura Dern makes it completely worth the ride.

This one looks wonderfully demented.

I'm sure a lot of you will disagree with me, but Les Miserables didn't do a lot for me, despite its ambitious approach and a couple of strong performances.

There is no way that I will ever see this movie. I can't stand a whole entire musical, I saw the trailer and I didn't like it, and the songs that everyone is praising just are absolutely annoying for me.

Lincoln = it's far from perfect, but you know what? It was still a pretty rewarding experience. I think I'm also in love with John Williams' score.

A Willams score can always make a difference.

Next up....Mr. Aronofsky's latest masterpiece, BLACK SWAN.

It's just a movie, remember that when it's over. I felt like I just tripped hard after watching that one.

Next up on my Aronofsky list....THE WRESTLER. I still cannot believe Mickey Rourke did NOT win that Academy Award. I love Sean Penn (MILK), don't get me wrong, but good grief, that has to be one of the Academy's biggest mistakes.

Like when they gave Bill Murray's Oscar to Sean Penn wtf

tbondrage99
tbondrage99 at 02:52 AM Jan 02

There are some people the Academy just loves who are always up for the awards. Clint Eastwood, Phillip Seymore Hoffman and Meryl Streep are examples, Sean Penn definitely fits in that category as well. Either way I agree, Rourke got robbed in a big bad way.

Mickey deserved the award, but Penn did give a fantastic performance. The Wrestler rocks

So for some reason, I've been craving some of Aronofsky's work, so I've decided to start the new year (after working a bloody freaking nightmare of a shift) with THE FOUNTAIN. Don't ask why I wanted to watch it, but....so be it. Happy new year!!!

Now that I've seen The Hurt Locker, I can say that all of the praise bestowed upon it was much deserved, and it's one of those rare movies that I wish had been a *tad* longer.

I fucking love that movie and remember I had to drive an hour and a half away to a tiny ass theater in Bumblefuck, NJ to see it.. but it was worth it.

Didn't like it, not much of a war movie guy but I didn't like the main character, the action scenes were boring and it was too stupid to be a realistic war movie, for me it didn't work either way. Still looking foward to Zero Dark Thirty.

I'm definitely looking forward to that one, too.

I don't like a lot of songs from musicals but I like this one, it's beautiful

Currently listening to the ENTIRE soundtrack from The Hobbit, courtesy of Rollingstone.com. It's pretty much everything I expected from Howard Shore, and hearing that theme for the hobbits again is just wonderful.
