Am I bad movie fan for not caring to watch the Oscars or not? I mean I like to know who wins and everything, but I don't really want to spend 4 hours in front of a TV to find out who won when I can just read it online while I do things I actually want to be doing. I don't know, my roommate was giving me shit earlier for being a movie fan and not caring to watch the Oscars.
Lets face it we have been suckered in to giving a shit about these award shows and at the end its really just the industry giving them selves pats on the back and has nothing to do with the movie viewing public.I like to know who won but thats about it.
I agree with Strider, the main reasons why I'm watching is because A)Matches_Malone and I are doing a post Oscars Podcast and B)There ain't shit else on tonight. Do what you want man, the important thing is that you dig movies and you're part of a community who understands that your roommate is an idiot. =)
Tell your roommate to burn in the deepest part of Hell and to stay there forever, because he's missing a few nuts and bolts in his brain. So you're not a movie fan because you have no interest in watching the Oscars? That's a crock of shit, as far as I'm concerned. When I think of a movie fan or movie buff, I think of someone who is a fan of and/or loves movies, not someone who obsessed with movie-centered award shows. That type of thinking makes no sense to me. Go do whatever you want to do, man, and be happy...and check out the results on-line.
