The more, the merrier, and hopefully we'll get as many frequent users as possible: https://www.facebook.com/groups/164196844189116/ Please join ASAP and I'd be grateful if you could spread the word. PS. We could also use a profile picture for the group. So if you can come up with something, that'd be great. So far I came up with a regular collage but I guess we need something more "professional" Mood: Angry Back to LelekPL's BLOGS

Thor: Ragnarok

Thor-ragnarok-international-poster-1-large

Directed by: Taika Waititi
Written by:
Cast: Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Jaimie Alexander, Mark Ruffalo, Cate Blanchett, Karl Urban, Tessa Thompson, Jeff Goldblum
Studio: Marvel Studios
Genre: Action, Adventure, Comic Book, Fantasy, Science-Fiction
Official Site:
Plot: Imprisoned, the almighty Thor finds himself in a lethal gladiatorial contest against the Hulk, his former ally. Thor must fight for survival and race against time to prevent the all-powerful Hela from destroying his home and the Asgardian civilization. (IMDB)

Review:

This movie was an exciting pop corn ride of a movie...it felt like it was injected with the feel of Guardians of the Galaxy with the dialog and soundtrack.
I felt like this movie improved where the previous Thor movies had lacked because after "The Dark World", I was not enthused to see another Thor (Marvel) adventure. The movie was a fun journey from start to finish and gave MCU fans just about what they wanted from a Thor movie.
Cate Blachett played a good evil villain whose background story was understandable and got her arc in the movie. Also Tom Hiddleston as Loki was again a fan favorite and we got to see a small glimpse of a difference personality trait.
This movie definitely caused a new enthusiasm for Thor and his role in future Marvel movies.
If you have not seen this movie and have been contemplating see it....definitely see it because it will be a wild entertaining ride!

I know she was having issues with some moron who changed names weekly , and it was kind of bringing her down . Too bad , she was fun to rap with .

I recently started watching, "Mr. Robot" season one. The show caught my attention from the first episode, but it wasn't until the second or third episode did I understand where this story was going ....its almost like a slow burn of a plot where they don't tell you everything up front, but more or less show you enough to keep things going well. I recommend this show to anybody looking for a new show to binge watch.

I am so glad to back on MFC ....for months I had computer issues that prevented me from being able to get online. The urge to get on here and talk about movie/TV/Music culture was tough specially because I like reading everyone's material and interacting with all of you. So Happy belated Birthdays to those I missed and hope you all had a good Thanksgiving with family and friends.

When stars get into trouble like Mel Gibson, Kevin Spacey, etc...can you look past their personal lives and still enjoy their past, present, and future work? OR do you write them off and never bring yourself to watching their work again?
cobb
cobb at 04:08 PM Nov 24

im one of the few that can look past it

RandomK1NG
RandomK1NG at 07:34 PM Nov 24

I'm able to look past it. A person can be a piece of shit, but I'm gonna watch the movies because I love movies and there are other people involved with them that I'd like to support.

I read an article that some company wanted to CGI a different outfit for Princess Leia that would cover up her Bikini from "Return of The Jedi"..deemed inappropriate. The article when further to guess Lucasfilm should do the same, especially now that Star Wars is a Disney property and it would not be right for kids. In my opinion, it should be left alone as original content, unless Carrie Fisher's family wanted a change. I can see both sides of the story. What are your thoughts on this subject?
Weapon X
Weapon X at 11:48 AM Aug 29

Carrie Fisher never had a problem with the outfit and thought the controversy over it was a joke, so that's about where I stand.

I would be depressed if such censorship occurred. However, these days, Americans sometimes value their safe places more than their freedoms, so the redaction might be "appropriate" for modern U.S. culture, sadly.

I have been away for a month...not sure when I will be back on MFC...there is so much to talk about...but unfortunately not enough time to talk/post about it. I miss reading all of your posts and joining in great conversations...see you guys and gals soon.

I finally watched , " GET OUT" ...it was definitely a up tempo thriller..was much better than most similar movies. Jordan Peele did a great job directing this movie....interested in what he might direct next.

It is very hard for thriller movies now to hold our interest and show us things that excite us as we watch the film.

Just after it came out (1979?)I saw Alien all alone in a humongous theater. It was before noon on a Tuesday and I think there were like 11 other people there or so. I was also ill prepared for the terrifying adventures of Mrs. Ripley, so all in all a somewhat anxiety provoking experience. Watching other movies alone was never any problem.

After seeing the "Black Panther " movie...damn Lupita Nyong'o looks amazing kick ass! DO NOT MESS WITH HER!

I think its cool that Stranger Thing's Millie Bobby Brown auditioned for X-23 in Logan, but Dafne Keen owned that role easily. If that role expanded into other movies...maybe Millie Bobby Brown could be considered.

i think the fact that Keen is bilingual really helped her secure the role, but both actresses are incredible in their own way and I'm super excited to see more of them in the future!

Jerry Bruckheimer says the Pirates franchise wont continue without Johnny Depp...while once Bruckheimer lets go of the franchise...it will either be remade by someone or a few direct to DVD sequels will occur...like a movie about a young Jack Sparrow..which nobody will really want. Most franchises like this one, diehard...someone is always around the corner to squeeze more money out of a good movie franchise.

oscarxp25 at 11:40 AM May 27

I was going to out and see the new one just because of Bardem. After all the reviews I read, especially from NYT, and my student hating it, I will wait. I never thought the first one was incredible either. It was enjoyable. Depp needs to.reboot his career. I would love more of black mass roles where he challenges himself. I am not even looking forward to him as invisible man. He will probably phone it in

I honestly think Depp could play Jack forever, he doesn't age!
