I love Doomsday, even if it is one ripoff after the next. Rhona Mitra is fun to watch and it has a good attitude. I may resort to watching The Poughkeepsie Tapes online. I know Netflix had it at one point, but I don't think so anymore. My brother goes to school in Poughkeepsie now, so that renewed my interest in seeing it.

Frozen
1. Aliens - Deleted scene where they're setting up turrets and barricading themselves in, and the resulting firefight after they forgot one crucial entrance to the room.

4. Predator - Just drop me in that jungle with a gun and a knife.
5. The Matrix - The matrix.
6. Casino Royale - That poker game.

9. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Original or Remake) - Chase scene at the end.
10. Anchorman- The anchorman brawl.
11. The Mummy - Any time spent in the pyramids.
12. Harry Potter - I want to play Quidditch.

The Ten Films That Shaped My Life , and turned me into the Movie Freak I Am

Bishop
1. Aliens - The movie that made me the movie lover/horror freak I am today. The scene where Bishop is split in two by the Queen simply blew my mind as a kid. The continuity and editing of the shot is perfect, but as a kid I was utterly amazed that that was even possible.
2. Jurassic Park - Watching "real" dinosaurs roam around was something The Land Before Time was never able to provide. Pure movie magic at its best.
3. 101 Dalmations - One of my all time favorite animated films and the one that made me the animal lover I am today.
4. Cliffhanger - The film that gave me a fear of heights that I only recently conquered by jumping out of a helicopter at 13,000 ft. I walked in on my parents watching this (and nothing else) just as the girls glove slipped off of her hand and she plummeted to her death. They convinced me she fell onto a giant trampoline and bounced back up, but I always had my doubts.
5. Scream 3 - My first R-Rated horror film. When I realized there was still a 1 and 2 to be discovered it was game over. I was a horror fiend from this point on.
6. Toy Story/Toy Story 3 - I grew up with Woody and Buzz so watching their journey come to an end last summer was a truly gratifying experience. Much like another series this summer...
7. Space Jam - The first film that my brothers and sister could quote religously. Its also a pretty sweet sports film and was the first soundtrack/CD I ever owned.
8. High Tension - The first foreign horror film I sought out. The French do it best in my opinion, but there are some gems from all over the world and the search for the most insane/scariest film never ends.
9. Tommy Boy - One of the films where my whole family can sit down and all laugh together. Chris Farley and David Spade are genius together.
10. Harry Potter 1-7 - Watching Harry, Ron and Hermione grow up and translate from page to screen has been an incredible thing to watch. Especially for someone the same age as them. They often felt like my friends when I felt like I didn't have any growing up, as cheesy as it sounds. Watching it all come to an end (until WB feels the need to remake them) is going to be a hard thing to digest at about 2:30 am on July 15th.

My Favorite Horror Movie Openings

Scream_casey
1. Scream - Hands down one of the most brilliant opening scenes of all time, let alone a horror film. Had I been old enough to see it in '96 I imagine the shock was even greater when someone like Drew Barrymore was strung up like that within the first 10 minutes.
2. Jaws - The ultimate in "the fear of the unknown". So effective in its simplicity. As a kid I was even nervous about going into the pool for a nightswim after seeing this one. I suppose you don't even have to have sex in horror films to die, you just have to get naked.
3. The Ring (remake) - I remember seeing this as at 13 years old in the theater with my cousins. I wasn't sure what to expect so I was watching wide-eyed through the opening. Then I saw Amber Tamblyn's face and could hardly sit through the rest of the movie. Scared the ever living shit out of me and still does to this day.
4. Halloween - The POV opening had been done before with Peeping Tom and Black Christmas, but not quite like this. Shocking is a great way to describe this scene, where we see a young Michael Myers kill his sister Judith.
5. Martyrs - Never has a revenge scene affected me so much. It was truly hard to watch even after seeing the horrors our heroine was subjected to.
6. Final Destination 2 - There are car crashes and then there is FD2. Whether or not David Ellis is a talented director is up in the air after Asylum, Snakes on a (Motha Fuckin) Plane and The Final Destination, there is no denying that he staged one of the most gratifying and horrifying pileups in cinematic history.
7. The Descent - This scene really catches the viewer off guard and really sets up our main heroine's struggle throughout the course of the film.
8. Scream 2 - This is the Scream series doing what it does best: laughing at itself while the audience watches horrifying situation unfold.
9. When a Stranger Calls - Probably the most influential over the opening of Scream. We get tons of angles watching Carol Kane's babysitter as she does homework and walks around the house that all make sense after the classic line "the calls are coming from inside the house" is shouted out.
10. Saw - The terrifying premise of waking up, locked in a room with a stranger and a dead guy. No, not another weekend at Charlie Sheen's house but the opening of Saw. Its great in that by the end of the film, everything we believed or speculated about in the beginning of the film is totally worthless.

Fincher's Films Ranked

Basement
1. Zodiac - popped it in at 1:30 am one night, I usually fall asleep to movies, not realizing how long it was. I stayed up until the end at 4:30 or 5. It has some of the most terrifying moments in film in my opinion and is a perfect serial killer thriller to me.
2. The Social Network - He (and Aaron Sorkin) took "The Facebook" movie and made it one of the best of 2010.
3. Se7en - Another perfect serial killer film.
4. Fight Club - Brilliant performances captured by some excellent camera work and other movie magic.
5. Alien 3 - After all is said and done, I do love this movie. How much of it if Fincher's film is up in the air, but his signature is still all over it.
6. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button - A bit overlong, but a touching love story nonetheless. Some of the most mezmerizing visuals too.
7. Panic Room - An above average, house-invasion thriller, but not my favorite (clearly) of his work. Kristen Stewart's best work and Jodie Foster doing whatever it takes to keep her family safe are some highlights.
8. I haven't seen The Game yet, but I'm going to change that very soon.

WP-DFA at 08:44 PM Mar 28

Bleh, Social Network was crap - his worst. And that's saying something seeing as The Game was a mess.

A couple of thoughts after watching The Social Network

Date_night?1295162567
1. I wish I had accepted the offer from Harvard.
2. Andrew Garfield is going to make a great (and very likeable) Peter Parker.
3. David Fincher is the man.
