Good shit, man. I need to see it again to soak it all in. It really caught me off guard as I thought it would be more of a zany comedy than a dark, violent, black comedy.
I hope this is a real ad. It will sell ponchos like a muthafucka. This ad could run in certain free, liberal community papers. Thanks for the laugh.
Well I saw it today and I liked it a lot. It was fun. I didn't love it, mainly because in my opinion Arnold wasn't in it enough. That aside, fun flick!
Cool. It looks like it will be fun and nothing more. Of course, it doesn't help that they shoulder Arnold with a ton of co-stars. He's at his best as THE lead with some fun supporting characters that aren't fighting for his spotlight.
Look forward to catching it.
from the sounds of things around here it's a blast... I can't wait to see it myself, hopefully on Tuesday! Hope you dig it Paul
Phenomenal List and Presentation man! You're writing was pretty passionate, which is always a treat to read someone's love (and hates) on various films.
Thanks, man! Glad you enjoyed the list. It's always fun to put together once you get to the end of the year and you figure out what you REALLY liked vs. what the popular opinion is on what you SHOULD like. Rarely do they match up. Thanks again!
You as well Paul, cant wait to see your great work continue in the new year.
There are certainly scenes where it felt "off" most notably inside Bilbo's house. Everywhere else I loved it. It took a minute to adjust but...man, the battle scenes in particular looked amazing to me.
Again, I still think it's too soon to call, but it is definitely something I'd like to see in other films. There's still tweaking to do, but it looks promising.
As long as they keep giving us the option like with 3D and 2D, then that's fine. Filmmakers, go nuts with it. But if they're gonna completely do away with normal 24 FPS in favor of 48 or possibly 60 FPS in the near future, like a few power names in Hollywood already are urging for, then..........fuck that.
Yoshio, I'm with you, man. I think that it's a great option, a terrific cinematic tool, much like slow motion or different film stocks, etc. It doesn't have to be in every movie, I don't think, but there's a good possibility it could take hold.
I'm officially interested to see what happens with it. I don't need all the b.s. gimmicks, but this creative choice felt like just that and not something that was being force fed. Thankfully.
Thanks, man! I think there's something for everyone in the whole batch. Enjoy!
There better be a damn The Oogieloves in the Big Balloon Adventure one that's all I'm sayin ;)

fantastic movie, glad you dug it too.
