SOOO many iconic scenes he's been a part of. I'd add two more from the first Mission: Impossible (the escape from the restaurant and the helicopter in the tunnel) and Mission: Impossible 5 has that plane sequence

The other films in the series have bigger moments but there's something about the simplicity of the hanging scene that makes it stand out above them all.

^ It's Brian De Palma's direction and understanding of tension. I always said that it's a great idea to give horror/thriller directors action films because that's where they can shine in the mainstream.

Like the plane sequence in M:I5 is probably the craziest stunt ever... but in the film it really lacks the tension of the first films' setpieces. The only one that came close was the Dubai sequence. That was breathtaking.

That Risky Business scene is iconic indeed. Everyone knows that one. Seemingly every film and TV show references that one.
