My older brother was crazy about the A-Team when he younger and has remained a fan. If it wasn't for that I wouldn't have seen a single episode. The show is cheesy and fun, but it's not something I can watch a lot of.
I was excited for this remake to come out though, because I grew up loving action movies, and the trailer looked like a blast, if a little over the top.
Although seeing the film for the action, I was definitely more into the characters. The whole cast is very likable and have great chemistry, Sharlto Copley as Murdoch especially. He continues his big break from the amazing District 9 here.
But i was disappointed in the action scenes, as with what seems to be the only type of action around anymore, the scenes are way too shaky, quick cut, and CGI'ed. I understand that for the falling tank shootout, practical effects won't do the trick. And if we hadn't been bombarded with so many computerized action scenes in the last decade, it may have been something special. Instead, I found myself actually waiting for some scenes to be over, and get back to talking scenes. Did i just say that?
Action scenes used to be about emotion and excitement, not about bigger and louder. (Check out Rambo from 2008 ago to see a great modern action flick. The aforementioned District 9 as well.)
I wanted to love this movie because of the great cast, but I merely like it. It's good fun, but not great action.
