Just saw "John Carter", thought it was a pretty decent movie. Why no love? And all of those "it's just an Avatar copy" barks, Edgar Rice Burroughs (the guy who wrote Tarzan?) wrote this story before Cameron was ever born. Bite it, King of the World.

I think Avatar is way, way, way more entertaining and just an overall much better movie than John Carter. However I never heard the 'it's an Avatar copy' thing tbh... in fact I recall Cameron even acknowledging the John Carter (Princess of Mars or whatever) story as an influence just as George Lucas did and many others, I think they even participated in promotional material for John Carter. I'm glad it bombed though, I was looking forward to it but when I saw it... ugh, what a mess. Too bad.

I never said it was an Avatar copy. Because that would be an ignorant, stupid thing to say. But I do think it was a sloppy, nonsensical mess of a movie.

Is it just me or is the Internet REALLY reporting the hell out of people passing nowadays? Every day now for like a month or two now, they're highlighting someone else having passed. Is old Rusty buggin'? (I'm not saying notable individuals that have passed shouldn't be reported on, it just seems to be more prevalent than in more recent years)

Men In Black 3: Josh Brolin was great, Will Smith kept the flavor of the movie going and Tommie Lee Jones, good as always. It was an okay flick, not as good as the original but better than the sequel. And I thought the bad guy was Tim Curry! Turns out its one of the dudes from Flight of the Concords?! Mind...blown.

So I watched "Drive" yesterday. It was okay. Not the greatest flick I've ever seen, but it was decent. Gosling was a really cool character, 2 and a half stars.
