I had such high hopes for this film and it got sooooo much right. All the wolf scenes were first rate. The whole feel of Gothic Horror, the tragic love, the crumbling estate, the estranged son and father, gypsies, curses.... right on the money.

The opening 30 minutes however is a lamentable mess. Chopped editing that jump from one scene to another and jump scares that make no sense. It's like the film has all the bones and muscles but no connective tissue.

Also...the end fight in the house was so "modern action movie" it was sad. Regrettable. Catch it on Netflix.
