I really dig all the work that Chris Nolan puts together and I really enjoyed most of the Batman films but I want to see what else that man can do. I am a lot more interested in his projects when they aren't apart of a franchise. He would put together a great Bond film but I want to see what else he has in store for cinema.

For those who read comics: I recommend you read Guardians of the galaxy, Morning Glories, Bedlam, and Danger Club. All great titles you will most likely enjoy.

People need to start adding Peter Dinklage to their cast, such a good actor.

Iron Man 3

Ironman3-tonysuit-post

Directed by: -1
Written by:
Cast:
Studio: Marvel Studios
Genre: Action, Comic Book
Official Site: www.IronManMovie3.com
Plot: The funny and brilliant Tony Stark has to put back on the suit and help save the world once again by fighting the terrible Mandarin.

Review:

Hmm what can I saw about this new installment... well honestly I was wanting more grit and a grimmer ending instead of comedy but I did enjoy this movie.(SPOILERS)

I did like how some of the characters got injured and from there Stark used revenge as motivation, that made him a bit more human to me and also that he was having panic attacks from the attack on new York we Marvel fans witnessed last year.

Acting (8/10)
Of course Robert Downey Jr., Guy Pearce and Don Cheadle did a great job along with the rest of the cast.

Special effects (8/10)
I really dug the last fight scene, all the suits being used was great. I did like some of the effects of "Extremeis" but not all, some were just ridiculous...and I think you know which part I am talking about.

Directing (7/10)
I think I prefer Jon Favreau's directing over Shane Black. Some parts of the movie were great and dark but there was a bit too much comedy for me, too many Marvel characters now have a mouth on them and are cocky but when Stark was the only one that had it and made it work. All in all good Marvel flick and a very good way to kick too the summer, I can't wait to see the rest of Marvel universe on screen and the rest of Phase 2.

So I finally caught up on this weeks episode Game of Thrones and ...things beginning to change. Characters that I dislike I see some good in and crazy things are happening to characters I like. Events like this make me question how this season will end.

I caught up on Bates Motel and yet again really good episode. I want to know more about the man in room 9 but that will happen soon enough, also it is going to be interesting see Norman's reaction to what just happened in next week's episode.

I just watched the episode of Bates Motel titled "The Truth." Gosh darnit its quickly become a series that gets more tension filled and better as it goes.

Shallow Grave

1995-shallow-grave-poster1

Directed by: Danny Boyle
Written by: John Hodge
Cast: Kerry Fox, Christopher Eccleston, Ewan McGregor, Ken Stott
Studio: Gramercy
Genre: Crime, Thriller
Official Site:
Plot: Three friends discover their new roommate dead but loaded with cash.

Review:

I really like this film and seeing as the latest Danny Boyle film didn't come to our theaters I bought this film on criterion and it wasn't a waste of money.

Acting (8/10)
Kerry Fox, Christopher Eccleston, Ewan McGregor did a great job but I loved Christopher Eccleston in this movie! Great, dark, and memorable performance.

Directing (9/10)
I loved the way this was shot, very "Hitchcock." Danny Boyle is a great director and should do more films also I can't wait to see Trance. One day I would love to go overseas to see his play of Frankenstein.

The Company You Keep

The-company-you-keep-poster

Directed by: -1
Written by:
Cast:
Studio: Sony Pictures Classics
Genre: Thriller
Official Site: www.thecompanyyoukeepfilm.com
Plot: A former Weather Underground activist goes on the run from a journalist who has discovered his identity.

Review:

This was a very good political thriller, somewhat slow paced but still a good film.

Acting (8/10)
The acting in the film stood out to me the most. Robert Redford even though was I didn't was going to disappoint. Nick Nolte was a surprise along with Anna Kendrick and Stanley Tucci was great but the actor that stood out the most was Shia Lebouf. His performance in this showed me that he is finally growing in his acting career, he showed that he can be an adult. He is still one of my top choices for Y:the last man.

Directing (7.5/10)
I don't watch any of Robert Redford films really but he did a great job putting this film together.
