Yes and no, notice how I mentioned how much I hate the movie? She's one of the biggest reasons, I liked the aesthetics, Sienna Miller looked hot, but that's about it, I LOATHED how in the end her badassness, her evil side, was just a result of stupid brainwashing making her in the end just another damsel in distress

I hated that plot point too. I thought it was so stupid. I don't read the GI Joe comics but - correct if I'm wrong - I'm sure she and Duke never used to be in a relationship either.

Never read the comics either but loved the cartoons as a kid and yeah, the movie wouldn't have been half as stupid if that wasn't in there.

If I remember correctly at one point she was brainwashed, in some continuity but she was in love with Destro which made her stay with the baddies anyway.
