The two single handed best action flicks I have seen this year is the one i watched last night.... The Last Stand which was fucking awesome and very entertaning, and great pace. And The Baytown Outlaws, I couldn't over how shockinglly great that was. I can't wait to own The Last Stand and revisit it. I bought Baytown on blu ray off amazon for 10 bucks.

Both movies are awesome. I picked up Baytown Outlaws for $5 and it was well worth it!

Haven't seen TLS yet (looking forward to it) but I did see the Baytown Outlaws and it was lots of fun and I totally loved the mayhem.

The only problem with Baytown is that it's just full on derivative. They spent more time trying to keep the movie action packed and googly-weird that they forgot they had decent actors and a pretty good basic plot to concentrate on instead. Still worth watching though!

Last Night I went out and rented Stand Up Guys because regardless of the flack it recieved. I was really looking forward to seeing these three kings of there day, share the screen together. Anyway, I thought the three of them were hilarious together, I couldn't stop laughing. It was everything I thought it would be and some. Stand Up Guys was a movie that I would have ran out to the store and bought when I was a kid. Just something about crime drameys hit home with me. I recommend even if you hear tainted reviews. If you go in with an open mind, i think you will be surprised. Ill def be owning it when the price comes down a bit. Could it have been better, yes. But it didn't need to be IMO.

i thought it was a wasted opportunity, script was weak, lots of scenes didnt work, line readings seemed off

I didnt think the script was weak at all. They had some very good one liners in there. I can't really recall a scene that didn't work for me. Maybe i was just happy to be watching it, but it didn't strike me as a waste.

good to hear you liked it... I'm a huge fan of crime movies and dark comedies and especially of this fantastic cast... but man I had to turn this movie off before the half hour mark. It just seemed so embarrassing to me. The guys just seemed to be going through the motions to me and the bland writing and direction was doing nothing but turning me off. Wish I could've liked it even in the slightest, but I turned it off before I could say I hated it haha, I can't do it to those guys

Well sent out what the couple agencies asked for. Next step they want to read. Fingers crossed. ON ANOTHER note: Texas Chainsaw was fucking badass!!!!! I really really really really enjoyed what they did with leatherface in this version. I loved it and damn was Alexandra Daddario fucking gorgeous, her body is UNREAL. The whole movie was so awesome I went out and used my rewards point to purschase it.

Good news , some bites over the weekend on my screenplay. 2 agencies, want me to write a 2-3 page Narrative outline, with all the major plot points leaving them nothing to guess at. 2-3 pages doubled spaced. Bad news I have a great template for the outline. But in no way am I going to be able to get everything the outline ask for in 2-3 pages. FUCK i struggled with this all weekend. If they like it, they will read my script. I wish they would just read it, because outlines kill me.

Here was my pitch.......................................Dear [Agencies], I am currently seeking representation. I have just finished polishing BENJAMIN IS SHORT FOR BENNY, an original screenplay. BENJAMIN IS SHORT FOR BENNY is set amidst a decade in the life of Benjamin Cain, where his last name is more than symbolic to the hell he raises. The story revolves around his tale to achieve his ultimate dream and the hell of a ride it takes to get there. His dream is for every movie fan out there, and only in this story will you know what living the dream means. BENJAMIN IS SHORT FOR BENNY remains true to all elements of cinema lovers. This tale is a puzzle, which reveals the big picture only when the last piece is placed. A true rebel, except this one has a cause, his own. Please let me know if you would be interested in reading the script. If you would like me to sign a release form I would be happy to do so. Yours Truly, Randy Scott Smoot

Just sent out my Query Letter pitching my screenplay to over 400 agencies, and 1000 production studio's. In the meantime, I am polishing up my final Draft and praying someone bites. But I have a good feeling.......And I want to kind move on to my next Original Screenplay because it is bursting at the seams.

Crimewave and Johnny Handsome this weekend!!! TWO I HAVE LONG AWAITED FOR.
RagingFellaDriver16 updated his STATUS: 9 days ago

Had my first time viewing of the celebrated, acclaimed. The Maltese Falcon, Humphrey Bogart is un-real as the private I detective. But I do have to say, I love films of that ERA alot, but even with all the hype and the fact that it is in AFI top 100 greatest film of all time. I wasn't a huge fan, John Huston did a great job with the script and his direction, Me and My friend discussed it and I have to agree with hiim. The setting is what kind of a made it a bit boring. It took place in rooms, from room to room, it was all ROOMS!!. lol Humphrey Bogart, was amazing though he is unbelievably spot on, in this detective Noir. Just wasn't something that had me raving about.

this is one of my favourite flicks of all-time. and if you want to get into the discussions of adaptations and what-not, i've read the book and it is EXACTLY like the movie. almost verbatim. the whole book takes place in ROOMS. there are very few outdoor scenes. the focus here was on the wordplay for both the book and the movie, i think. and i totally agree with you on bogie. he is the mold to which all detectives are made from.

Happy Birthday to Robert Zemeckis! My favorite of his will always be the Back to the Future trilogy. I've been saying Old Sport constantly since Gatsby, haha.

Over the weekend, I watched Holy Motors, which was some obscure shit, however it was entertaining and it was an easy watch for me. I have seen Holy Mountain twice so Ive seen just about as obscure cinema gets. I watched the Doc Side by Side, On the reign of Digital cinema and its effects on Film, very enlightening and scary to me. I grew up in the 90's so film is KING to me. I enjoy what Digital is doing for the indie world, but I don't want film to be non-existant. AND I SEEN THE GREAT GATSBY last night. I really really enjoyed, I know it was a bit essentric in the form of like a dream like state of living. but it was well crafted and the story was still portrayed in a fresh manner. Leo was great, but I was overly impressed with Tobey Mcguire. I thought Nick Carraway's character was ACED by him. He really brought him to life.

Jack Reacher was definitley entertaining, it start to get a little drawn out, if they cut about 15 mins out, i think the reactions might have been a little better. But I'm a tom cruise fan always , have will. He one of the biggest faces of hollywood and the man really can play any role he dedicates himself too. But he is a hell of an action star. I though Reacher was a kick ass character, honed by a kick ass star. christopher Mcquarre has my attention long before Jack Reacher. I love that guy. 7/10 I would give Reacher. Good and If it was on TV again, i would def tune in for another round but Im not gonna go out of my way to watch it again. I think the Bourne movies were better. But I think Reacher was SHOT better.

Guilt trip was cute, a good family movie for the most part. I don't think I'd ever watch it again. but glad I checked it out. Jack Reacher tonight

Beauski at 09:37 AM May 09

Yep, that's how I felt about it too. Decent, but no need to ever watch again. Enjoy Jack Reacher, it was good enough.

RANT...RANT.....Dude a Scorsese flick to me star's Robert De Niro in everyone. everything Leo and Marty have done up until this point. THey have given us some fucking TREATS of A performance's and films that will stand 100 years. BUT A SCORSESE FLICK!!!! NEEDS De Niro. HE should spend the rest of his CAREER making The Irishman. It will make his career bigger than When he has done Goodfella's, Taxi Driver, or Raging Bull. CASINO. The Irishman would be the Scorsese I need. You don't have to agree, but I've read I heard you paint Houses and it screams SCORSESE MASTERPPIECE. Mark my words if he makes it. Watch out, The Departed would have be forgot that it ever existed. LOl its that serious. I have had about 12 CORONAs now and been watching clips of Scorsese films. Deniro to Scorsese is Scorsese to Deniro. Match made in heaven man.
