I didn't like this movie. I didn't like it cause it was bad not becuase I grew up watching the cartoon and wanted something serious or some retrospective on the world today with G.I. Joe involved in it somehow. The story was weak, the acting sucked, the editing and CGI was shit!
I understand that they wanted to make a movie for kids but with action for adults, but do kids even know G.I. Joe today? I never see any cartoons for it or any toys, maybe I'm just out of the loop when it comes to that stuff. It's not as if there were some 10 year olds writing and creating this movie, even though at times it looks like there was, no offense to the ten year olds, but what was the point of this film? There were some violent scenes in this movie, like heads being blownup and eyes getting stabbed, and Storm Shadow getting cut up real bad but that wasn't G.I. Joe to me.
I just wasn't impressed with anything in this movie and I hope they don't make a sequel even though it was set-up for one of course.
I will stick with the animated show if I want me some G.I. Joe.

Did your kids see this RadDad? Did they like it? And how do they know Yo Joe today?
Yes I took my 7 year old boy and my 4 year old daughter to see it at the theater and they loved it. There are a couple of gruesome shots that I would have avoided but over all it was fine. I do not let them see PG-13 movies very often, believe it or not I am very careful with what they are able to watch. My son has not seen Dark Knight yet even though I know it will blow his mind. They know GI Joe because I am Rad. Hasbro has never stopped selling the toys and they have seen all of the original series on dvd including all of the mini-series. And the cartoon movies, GI Joe Resolute (which I think is more violent, and an excellent movie), and all of GI Joe Sigma 6 (which I had to order from Guam). So we are looking forward to the sequel.

Yes kids know GI Joe today.
