Well it's cool to see Chucky return once again, even though it doesn't make any sense. Fresh out the box and back to his deadly ways, strangling people with yo-yo strings and talking tikes into playing games like "hide the soul". Some of Chucky's greatest lines come from this movie actually. And I really liked the haunted house sequence, that was pretty cool. But overall I thought the military academy surroundings just sucked.
It just seems like a really lame place to host a slasher movie, and puts a harsh limit on the victims. I mean it's a fucking school, so you already know from the get-go that all the adults are gonna get it. Don't get me wrong, it was cool to see the haircut-fetish dude get a cut of his own. But we have to spend all this time with these annoying kids, but we don't get the satisfaction of watching them die.
These are some unforgivably annoying kids. I know that Shelton dude was meant to be a douche but good Lord, I could not STAND that fucking guy. He's just not the kind of villain you like to watch. And don't even get me started on that stupid little black kid. But overall the Chucky action is pretty dull all together. The kills are too spread out and are rather forgettable.
BOTTOM LINE: I mean I don't hate this movie, I can't say that I don't have an at least decent time with it, but it's definitely my least favorite of the franchise. Chucky is still a fun character. Plenty of great one-liners and vicious sarcasm. But the military school setting was boring, the kills were pretty lame and most of the character got on my nerves. Not one of Chucky's best.
