Review:

Visually speaking, Tron: Legacy is easily the best 3D movie I’ve experienced and has completely restored my faith in the direction that 3D movies are headed in. Tron: Legacy proves that 3D can be the immersive experience it’s supposed to be when it’s done in a way that complements the visual style and special effects of the film instead of just acting as a cheap way to candy coat it. Avatar was a step in the right direction, but I think Tron: Legacy takes it even further. There are some really stunning visual moments in the film that are just jaw dropping, particularly during action sequences. Now as far the other aspects of the film go such as story and acting, it’s nothing spectacular, but it gets the job done. There are some genuine emotional scenes here and there. Most of the acting is pretty good, mostly coming from Jeff Bridges. Garrett Hedlund as Sam Flynn wasn’t bad either. I also don't think the movie would have been quite the same without the stellar music done by Daft Punk. Overall, this was the kind of 3D experience I've been waiting for (at least since Piranha 3D, but that's a completely different story) and I give it a high rating despite the shortcomings of its less technical aspects.
