Lol what?

Sorry for being a grumpy filmbuff but I've seen The Last Jedi last night and think it was pretty bad. Some moments were even embarassing. Poor fan service, unfunny humor, too has some interesting moments but overall it fails big time. I even prefer The average The Force Awakens. 4/10.

It sounds like The Last Jedi might have some faults common to Disney movies. Thanks for the heads-up. We all shall soon see for ourselves.

It is always nice to see a negative reaction to a movie that will get universal praise from nerds. You provide reasonable reasons for your score. Hopefully, I disagree with you though!

To Live And Die In LA is still the great thriller it was when I first saw it 31 years ago

love that film.

As far as I like McBride and Gordon Green, I really start to think their Halloween movie could possibly suck. For sure it could also be great but the fact is they maybe should do a stand alone flick instead of trying to follow the original. Just my guess.
grelber37 at 12:55 AM Nov 14

It will be very interesting to discover whether you are right. McBride and Green have only so much background in writing great movies. AND, not everyone likes someone's reinterpretation of Carpenter's classic material. Look at what happened with Rob Zombie.

timmyd at 01:59 AM Nov 14

I'm getting good vibes from everything I've heard so far , so I'm really excited . Of course I've been desperate for a solid HALLOWEEN film since the decent , but not great , H2O and Carpenter's involvement has me stoked .

5 episodes into Stranger Things 2 and well...I'm kinda bored. The show's cool but not as intriguing and unfortunately interesting as the 1st season for now. I hope the 6th episode will be better,, more intense and satisfying than the 5 I've already seen.

Tonite's double bill features 2 Horror remakes: The Crazies & The Last House On The Left
BATeMAN at 01:10 AM Oct 27

That's an awesome double feature. Both are miles better than the originals IMO. Enjoy.

timmyd at 01:12 AM Oct 27

Today's monsters day : Rawhead Rex, The Relic, Prophecy (1979) and Deep Rising.
grelber37 at 10:32 PM Oct 21

Good choices! And, each chosen horror flick is significant in its own way.

piranhafeast at 11:09 AM Oct 22

Thanks. Totally significant. That's why I chose them titles.

Watching David Keith's The Curse from 1987, loosely based on some HP Lovecraft story.
piranhafeast at 10:35 PM Oct 16

Guess what? It sucks.

grelber37 at 12:00 AM Oct 17

Oddly enough, I watched recently a documentary on cinematic adaptations of Lovecraft literature. The reviewer said that The Curse sucked too. And, well, I have seen The Curse . . . and fell asleep during it.
The Curse sequels are slightly better, but not by much.

piranhafeast at 12:11 AM Oct 18

Yeah I kinda remember that The Bite: Curse 2 was better and more interesting than this one. The problem is that both terribly look like italian films trying to copy American stuff, which they actually are.

I'm trying to stay focused watching Killer Klowns From Outer Space but gosh this movie got old. Not very funny, slow paced...the sfx are good but frankly the movie itself is pretty bad.
cobb at 04:55 PM Oct 13

i think thats the point it knows its bad i love it

piranhafeast at 05:22 PM Oct 13

Yes the mo movie was made by The Chiodo Bros as intented to parody the old 50s monster movies. It was supposed to be cheesy bad but IMO it's just bad even as an attempt to be a "fake bad B movie". The main problem is that there is no rythm. It is too slow and not even funny. I remember loving it back in the 80s but nostalgia has its own limits for me and watching Killer Klowns in 2017 was painful to me.

timmyd at 01:24 AM Oct 14

ah man , I love it .

The Babysitter was great. Congrats on McG & Netflix. Highly entertaining and very funny. Loved every second of it.
