Not that I was actually gonna see a Richard Gere movie, but now I don't have to. Thanks, trailer for THE DOUBLE, for eliminating the slightest intrigue by spewing every twist in the film's plot!
How could you possibly know that it showed every twist in the plot?
I knew someone would come along and dissect that. I deserve that, I guess. Should have reworded to avoid obvious snark --
What I mean is that it basically gives away the trajectory of the entire film, including huge plot details that may have made me interested. Trailers should entice but not reveal so much. Wasn't there a "Come On, Hollywood!" regarding this trend?

Pretty sure Gosling's a lock for an Oscar nom this year, what with Drive and The Ides of March arriving for awards season. What other Best Actor candidates are out there? Jean Dujardin's making rounds for The Artist..
I would love to see Ryan Gosling win an oscar. He should have been nominated for Blue Valentine (and I never finished the whole movie; I need to do that) and he is definitely one of the best talents today, so he'd deserve it!
Probably for Ides of March. It looks a little Oscar-baity. It would be cool if Drive was really that good.
Good point with Blue Valentine. Two Oscar-baity (nice word) pictures this year, plus a significant Oscar snub, equals a surefire nomination. Anyone else? Is Contagion worthy, or would those be a mix of Supporting Actors/Actresses? Pitt in Tree of Life? Leo and Viggo have period pieces coming out as well.. JGL in 50/50?

What's the verdict on THOR, Schmoes? Think it's going to live up to the hype?
Not at all. It's gonna bomb, my money is going toward X-men this summer.
I'm not really aware of any over-hyping for the flick. Sure people are excited for it, and so am I -- but I don't think anyone's expecting something that will revolutionize film, we're just expecting a big loud fun sci-fi/fantasy action flick. From all the reviews coming out already, that's what we're getting.
