The Cove is a fucking great documentary. It is absolutely sick to see what is happening to these dolphins every year. Everyone should watch this.

I already know what's happening to the dolphins so I can't bring myself to punish that knowledge with visuals. Just makes me hate humanity more...

There's a great South Park episode that points out the hypocrisy of the Western world on this subject though (fuck YOU dolphin! fuck YOU whale!). I'm not saying awareness should not be spread about what's going on in the fishing industry in Japan but what's the diff between the genocide of dolphins and the manufactured industry of the continued genocide of fowl and cows?

We all have our own shame when it comes to the food supply and a lot of these documentaries inadvertently shift focus from one nasty practice to another until it creates nothing more than additional deaf ears to fall upon :(

I just found out that this academic award winning documentary will be playing on Animal Planet tomorrow tonight. The Cove won Best Documentary during last year's oscars.
