To me, this is the proof positive no one really "chooses" to be gay. No one chooses to take that kind of abuse from friends and family for being who they are. This guy actually did "choose" to be gay, and came out the better for it.
It's nice that he was actually curious and had the heart and humility to realize that he was wrong.
