We...are the Gods now...
My name is Peter Weyland, and if you indulge me....I'd like to change the world.
Say what? How's it not a prequel to the other 3?
Prometheus features the same company, Weyland-Yutani that are featured in Aliens, except that it's simply the Weyland company, before they merge with Yutani.
Scott says it's a prequel to ALIEN.
They're all within the same consistent movie universe, as much as I'd like to expunge the 4th movie from it completely. If it's connected to ALIEN(1979), then it's connected to the others. I'm not sure how that wouldn't be clear but, there ya go.
@Cochise - Exactly what drc and Yoshio said. ALL 4 Alien movies take place in the same universe. Each movie is connected with one another. Prometheus is a prequel to 'Alien'.
The quote from my status is from the new viral video.
Its a prequel (of sorts) to Alien, but its not an Alien movie. Scott keeps taking about new creatures.
ah yeah ok, that's what I originally thought but some guy said this... 'Prometheus takes place before Alien and has no ties to any other films in the franchise. So no, he isn't related to Charles Weyland because Charles Weyland doesn't exist in Ridley Scott's Alien universe.' and I was pretty confused by it lol, thanks for clearing it up

can't wait for this flick but... I just read this and am totally confused so please help me out here... Prometheus is a prequel to Alien which we all know (even though 'ITS NOT' says Ridley Scott, whatever) but it's NOT a prequel to Aliens, Alien 3 or 4 and not even in the same universe as any of those three movies... which means that Aliens, Alien 3 and Alien 4 have nothing to do with Alien and aren't even in the same universe either? :s or am I reading some guy just talking out his ass...?
