While I did enjoy the new "Ghostbusters" the cameos were unnecessary, most definitely shoehorned in and Kate McKinnon was just not good in this movie at all. Her role, rather the way she decided to play it, did not fit into this movie. Her facial expressions, the licking of the proton gun, the wig bit, none of that stuff worked. She did have a few choice lines but she was too goofy and cartoony. In short: I recommend seeing it, but I wouldn't rush out to see it. The villain is weak, I thoroughly enjoyed Chris Hemsworth's performance, CGI was meh, Kristin Wiig's still got it, Leslie Jones was quite funny (funnier than what the trailers let on), and Melissa McCarthy played it the most straight but she was still funny.

Nice small gem of a film to check out: Already Tomorrow in Hong Kong. It's a simple, walking-talking, dialogue-driven film with two likable leads wandering around Hong Kong that felt very authentic to me. It also made me want to go back to Hong Kong, so there's that, haha.

Sounds interesting thanks for sharing. I'm gonna look it up.

I finally got around to seeing Warcraft and man, a lot of the dialogue is pretty awful, accents are all over the place, Glenn Close was one of the better bits, it dragged then picked up, then dragged again, then picked up again...I'd rather see a movie about the Orcs than humans because the human elements were pretty - not good, let's say. I don't think this movie is worth any more of my time explaining what I felt went wrong. The music was great though and the CG was impressive, so there's that.

I had watched The Bourne Identity a few months back so it was fresh in my mind so when I saw the Jason Bourne trailer I knew I had to pop in Supremacy. And damn, it's still as good as ever. I remember sitting in the theatre opening weekend and the entire place was shocked by those first 15-20 minutes and then BOOM! shit got real.

As it's the end of Lent AND Easter Sunday, I recommend watching the best Lent movie of all time: "40 Days and 40 Nights" (a fairly underrated comedy in my eyes)...maybe not with your parents though...

I really really liked Zootopia. It's fun, funny, cute and after it was over I thought "damn, that would make a cool theme park."

Ex Machina though...

If that's the tone and vibe for the entire film, then Suicide Squad is going to be one helluva ride.

So 'Pain & Gain' is not good. Uneven tonally, I found myself laughing at it more than with it and a part of me didn't like how they made comedy out of the murders of these real people.

I wanted to like Fantastic Four. I tried. There are bits that work and they clearly chose young, capable and quality actors but some of the lines! Ugh! This movie felt forced and rushed and cobbled together by committee rather than a singular vision. Then, as the credits rolled and I was digesting what I had just seen I heard something. The score was different than anything else in the movie and I liked it. It felt like it had come from a totally different movie - a movie that I wanted to see. But, we'll never see that movie. And I deleted a long rant where I explained how I didn't want Marvel to regain the rights of this franchise but ultimately, who cares.

Well at least it sounds as if there's something worth seeing it for...

Ehhh, I wouldn't go so far as "seeing" as I'm sure it's on the soundtrack.
