There's such a solid grounding and mythology for something truly spectacular it'd be a shame to let it rot. The idea of the Highlander is a good one and it needs to be applied to a more timeless setting and film.

Unsettling and bizarre in a very horrific way, this is an essential piece of documentary filmmaking. The main story of Oliver O'Grady's charges of molestation, coupled with the inclusion of many of his victims and the way it effected their lives, is fascinating and dark on multiple levels. Quite simply, I can't believe this man can admit to all of these horrible things he's done with a straight, smug smile on his face. I'm a severe skeptic when it comes to my own religion and beliefs, and I will say that this piece has helped me affirm my stance against the insanity of organized religion, but the psychological breakdown from all angles of all parties involved in this extended ordeal is revealing and disgusting...[more]...

Here's a great example of a well made, good looking and entertaining film that did absolutely nothing for me. I don't hate this movie and I applaud the fact that if this is the next craze, at least it's a well made story with believable characters and situations to enjoy, rather than a certain sparkly vampire series. I think my biggest problem is that I'm not the target market here. I've seen The Running Man, Battle Royale and countless other "hunt humans for sport" films and the problem is this is a one-note plot device. While I think the film was well made and entertaining I found myself bored and predicting every move the film made. Jennifer Lawrence is great as a strong, assertive female lead, almost polar opposite to most other actresses in her age bracket. Visually the film had a strange mix of grass roots meets neon Mad Max/Logan's Run that I found more distracting than anything else. I just find myself wanting to hate this film more than like it, and it has a lot to do with the fact that I feel a little ticked off that something like this has been done to death before. That being said, this is not a bad film. The action was poorly shot, but that's my only technical gripe. I just wasn't interested in any of the characters or the typical story.
i havent seen this, but i would probably feel the same way, just because i love Running Man so much.
It's just really derivative, whether or not the creators will admit it
I have some strong feelings about how Lost was presented to us. It is my firm belief that when he assured me as an audience member that they had a plan and that they would wrap up the story well, he was lying through his teeth. I've never been more let down by anything than the Lost finale. And then, he has the balls to shit-talk the Star Wars prequels because we "Knew how that was going to end". Well I'm no prequel fan, but at least Lucas ended the fucking story with something at least palatable.
...
Sorry, Lost really upset me, I get carried away.

Be forewarned, I'm about to spoil the shit out of this movie...[more]...
He's pretty hit or miss with me. Sometimes his reviews are really funny and make good points and his overthetop character is really good. But other times it's definitely annoying. Like sorry I don't want to watch a fucking 26 minute video of The Grinch where every line of his review is rhyme.

Agreed. It was a great movie in a cheesy way but it has total potential to be a FANTASTIC movie.
