I've decided that I want someone to make a movie about the start of SNL and I want them to cast Jenny Slate as Gilda Radner. Basically, I just want an excuse for Hollywood to cast Jenny Slate as Gilda Radner.

That sounds about perfect. You should write the screenplay.

HTX0811 at 07:14 AM Dec 01

Great idea. I love SNL behind the scenes stories and would see this in a heartbeat. And if you want to write the screenplay, I'll help.

MLRoberts at 12:20 PM Dec 01

TJL: That's a great idea! I'll look into that.

HTX: I'll let you know if I do anything.

It's after Thanksgiving which means it's officially time for some Love, Actually.
Righteous_faustus at 12:41 PM Nov 29

Nice! Such a great and diverse cast.

Glinda at 01:47 PM Nov 29

No words. What's funny is when this came out I didn't like it. I thought it was too convoluted with too many stories and not enough character development with any of them. Then I watched it a second time and wondered what I was smoking before. SO GOOD.

MLRoberts at 06:32 AM Dec 01

Righteous: I so agree. It's got such a wide range of actors.

Glinda: Interesting! I'm glad you liked it after a second viewing :)

The Theory of Everything

In the 1960s, Cambridge University student and future physicist Stephen Hawking (Eddie Redmayne) falls in love with fellow collegian Jane Wilde (Felicity Jones). At 21, Hawking learns that he has motor neuron disease. Despite this -- and with Jane at his side -- he begins an ambitious study of time, of which he has very little left, according to his doctor. He and Jane defy terrible odds and break new ground in the fields of medicine and science, achieving more than either could hope to imagine.

I really want to see this.

MLRoberts at 06:33 AM Dec 01

I highly recommend it. It's definitely more of a romantic story than a science story but the acting is superb!

Spent Thanksgiving treating myself to lunch and a movie. Saw The Theory of Everything, and my, was it a lovely, touching movie. Felicity Jones and Eddie Redmayne were superb.
XSsoCX at 06:17 AM Nov 29

I'm glad you dug the movie, I know you were really excited about that one.

MLRoberts at 11:34 AM Nov 29

Thanks, XS! I really was excited to see it so I'm glad it didn't disappoint.

XSsoCX at 06:44 PM Nov 29

You're welcome.

Anyone else watching How To Get Away With Murder? Any thoughts on the mid-season finale??
JohnnyPHreak at 06:59 AM Nov 22

I am. I enjoy the show. I was disappointed in the fall finale until the final two minutes of the show. It made up for everything we had seen before. We had seen most of this episode through the season expect for the key moments.

MLRoberts at 02:51 AM Nov 24

I agree! I saw who killed Sam coming from a mile away but the last two minutes really added for a great twist for the upcoming episodes.

Back from Vacation!

Definitely had a nice relaxing 2.5 days in sunny (and warm) North Carolina. Can't wait to go back.

Mood: Chillin'

MLRoberts at 02:31 PM Oct 22

Yeah! Definitely fun to dress up, hang out with friends, and do something Halloween-y.

And I wasn't able to catch the game! What did they look like?

XSsoCX at 02:35 PM Oct 22

Absolutely! Can't wait, and I love that my friends and I are doing a group thing again too!

Here's a link from my page, it's not a huge difference, but I do think they are slick:

Glinda at 02:22 PM Oct 23

Did anyone catch The Affair last night? It looks interesting. I think I'm going to stick it out a while with this show...
jcov54 at 11:45 AM Oct 14

I caught it earlier today, and I really enjoyed it. There are many layers to it, and that really intrigues me

MLRoberts at 10:00 AM Oct 17

jcov, indeed! I like the structure of it and I totally agree that it has so many layers. I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes.

Is it weird that I am almost uncontrollably excited for The Theory of Everything? It looks so good!
XSsoCX at 11:45 AM Oct 04

MLRoberts at 05:48 AM Oct 05
