i watched an excellent film last night called "I'm a Cyborg but That's OK." it was a whimsical, dark comedy directed by the great Chan-Wook Park (Oldboy, Thirst, Stoker). i was pleasantly surprised to see a lighter, more comedic side to his work. in a lot of ways it reminded me of the French director Jean-Pierre Jeunet (specifically Amelie and Delicatessen), even down to the waltz driven soundtrack. all in all, it was superbly filmed, wonderfully acted, and the story was original and full of heart. if you're interested, it's on Netflix.
sounds pretty cool, I don't have Netflix anymore but I'll try to track it down

Cloud Atlas is my favorite film of the year...
i saw it twice in theaters and am halfway through reading the novel.
it may just be my favourite as well, the more I think about it the more I appreciate and love it
