#1 Movie of All-Time
#1 Movie Character
Are you worried that you have yet to hear Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman voice?:
Rey is my favorite character from The Force Awakens and she's instantly one of my favorite characters in the entire saga so far. Daisy Ridley deserves all of the accolades she's getting for her role in this film. Likewise, JJ, KK and the casting agency has to be commended for putting their faith in an actress for her very first movie. She has that rare screen presence everytime she's onscreen. She says so much without saying a single word.
I look forward to Rey's journey in the next two Episodes. I have high hopes of who she really is and higher hopes of who she will become.

BY GOD, THERE'S SPOILERS...[more]...
About a year ago at this time, I told myself if I could get some credit cards paid off, I'd treat myself to a little something something. At the end of August, I accomplished that goal. A few days later on September 4 [Force Friday], I pre-ordered the Hot Toys The Force Awakens First Order Stormtrooper Squad Leader. It's my first Hot Toy for Star Wars and I absofuckinglutely love it! It was the first figure from EPISODE VII to be released and the only one available right now. My wife was wonderful enough to get me a kick ass display case for my birthday last month.
This time next year, I want the remainder of my credit cards to be paid off. If I get that accomplished, I may have to treat myself again!
As I prepare for tonight’s long-awaited sequel, I’d like to share what STAR WARS EPSIODE VII: THE FORCE AWAKENS means to me.
When I was a kid way back in the 1980s, all of my peers were beyond excited about the future of STAR WARS. In about 10 year’s time, we would get what would come to be known as the prequel trilogy. 10 years after that, they would complete the story with Episodes VII-IX. All 9 movies were to be told through the eyes [?] of C-3PO and R2-D2. Episodes I-III would talk about Anakin and Obi-Wan and the Clone Wars while Episodes VII-IX would be about Luke training new Jedi.
That obviously did not come to pass. But I hope it will work out even better.
Do you realize how lucky we are getting this movie?? It’s a little over 30 years after 1983’s ‘Return of the Jedi’ and so many of the principal participants are still with us. Mark Hamill, who is proud of the role of Luke Skywalker is back in the mentor role. Harrison Ford who, at numerous times, has said that he would ‘never’ portray Han Solo again. Carrie Fisher is back as is Peter Mayhew, Anthony Daniels and Kenny Baker. Lawrence Kasdan, the screenwriter for ‘Empire’ and ‘Jedi’ is back to help pen this movie. Ben Burtt, inventor of all of the iconic sound effects is back with, hopefully, more incredible new sounds. The movie music master, John Williams, God bless him, is back to score the new movie. I ask again, do you realize how lucky we are getting THIS movie?!
JJ Abrams, whom has been hit or miss with me over the years, is the man behind it all. I’m excited and nervous that EPSIODE VII will be what EPSIODE I should have been 16 years ago.
I can't believe I've managed to make it this long with no spoilers. I've only seen the first 3 trailers and the behind the scenes montage from Comic Con. God help the guy standing in line tonight if he talks too much.
This is going to be my first ‘midnight’ showing of a movie in my life, even though it’s going to really be 7PM. As I make my way out of my home for the final time before seeing this film, so many emotions are going through me right now. With a tear in my eye, this is a day I thought I would never live to see.
For those of you seeing this movie tonight, this weekend or next week…I’ll see you on the other side.
