I saw the two of the most talked about action movies recently - The Raid and Get the Gringo - and I gotta tel you... I was dissapointed by both of them. Though The Raid was clearly the better one and the more I think about it the more I like it. But the movie had serious pacing problems, at one moment it's balls to the wall with some of the best fighting sequences I've seen in a veeeery long time, but the on other occasions it lacked necessary suspense to keep me involved at the same pace.
Get the Gringo is nicely acted by Gibson, who's by far the best thing about this flick, but feels really cheap (I'm not even sure whether it was intentional) and quickly put together. The story is OK, not really engaging but it has its twists that I liked and likeable-asshole characters. Yet, if it wasn't for Gibson this just wouldn't be any more than your average action flick.

I saw Maniac yesterday. I've got to say, it was pretty impressive, shocking and disturbing. Great job by Elijah and the score was absolutely terrific! It feels a bit too "artsy" at times, though, and the point of the movie is kind of lost on me. Was it just to evoke these emotions I've mentioned in me?

I'm also proud to say that thanks to me the cinema in my town showed the undubbed version as well. I wrote them on their facebook wall and asked my friends to like my comment. They listened to us and got the subtitle version in the nick of time. Thanks Jesse Eisenberg

the fuck? 5 oscars for Hugo already? That's overdoing it a bit
I think it deserves a lot, but come on, best visual effects. I was certain Rise would take it, but hoping Harry Potter or Transformers would.
