I saw Maniac yesterday. I've got to say, it was pretty impressive, shocking and disturbing. Great job by Elijah and the score was absolutely terrific! It feels a bit too "artsy" at times, though, and the point of the movie is kind of lost on me. Was it just to evoke these emotions I've mentioned in me?

So I guess, The Tree of Life must be that good. Great to hear it won Palme d'Or at Cannes. Also excited for the directing nod to Nicolas Winding Refn for Drive. Looks like those two movies should be a hell of a watch. On a side note, The Artist sounds really interesting as well, it's the first time I'm hearing anything about this.

Holy shit was this a surprise. I was never a huge fan of the series, I liked the first part for the rip-off of Point Break that it was, just because it’s better to have a movie like that than to have it based on something lame. I'm back from Fast Five. For a bad movie, it was so much fun. I really had a blast eventhough I often laughed at how out there the action scenes were and how bad the dialogue could get. But The Rock and Diesel really delivered, their fight was great and just as I expected before seeing the movie, Hobbs needs a spin-off movie!
Hobbs definitely needs a spin-off... or put him in Expendables 2! Haha!

Just came back from Source Code. It was a great watch, kept me at the age of my seat, I liked the performances and cinematography and found the premise to be pretty fascinating. I was afraid they'll go too gimicky with it but I think they avoided it. However what still keeps me wondering is the music, since it reminds me very much of another action movie, which I can't recall now...
I loved it and respect the hell out of it because at 3 different points the movie totally lost me (as in it did something I hated) and I was ready to just give it the middle finger. Then, each time, it drew me back in. So far, it's my #1 this year.
Good call, I had two moments like that. Also, some folks might not like the ending, normally I would be one of those people, but I ultimately liked it. Thanks to the way it was presented and how the story kind of grew, I was alright with such a turn of events.
And it's my #2 of the year, after I Saw The Devil.

Watching Breathless for the first time. Not digging it, the quick cuts are annoying today, the main character is a douche bag (I guess that was the aim), the sound is mixed really poorly and some scenes are downright silly. I like parts of it, mainly the exchanges between Belmondo and Seberg but all in all I feel like punching the crew in the face...

yep, the whole series was embarrasing but the way they went out in game 4 is an abomination. Say goodbye to a sixth championship Kobe... however I hope this doesn't mean LeBron's getting his first ring.

66 million for Thor. That's actually more than I thought it would make. Sure it's nowhere near as good as Iron Man but with foreign numbers I think Marvel has another success on their hands. That's a good sign for Captain America who's much more recognizable.
