I really loved a lot about it. But one must know before seeing it, that it's not really a horror. It's a coming-of-age movie with scary elements. It's very much like Stand By Me and, of course, Stranger Things. But it's also more insightful psychologically, delving deeper into the "horrors" of growing up, which are materialized by IT.

Speaking of IT, Skarsgard is ok but probably the only weaker point of the film. He's menacing thanks to the script but he doesn't come close to Tim Curry's performance. As bad as that TV mini-series was, Curry's performance was trul terrifying. Here, Skarsgard manages to get under your skin in only two or three scenes and they're achieved mostly due to staging and make-up, except for the opening where he's really good.

The kids, on the other hand, are fantastic. I have like four stand-outs out of the cast which truly shows how good all of them were. I'm really curious who'll play the adult versions of the cast. Bill, Ben, Beverly and Richie were all amazing, and even Eddie made me care for him, which is especially sad, considering what happens later to the character.

I highly recommend the film. The scares are tasteful (though not that scary), but the drama is the highlight. If you love a good coming-of-age tale, you'll love this film.

PS. In connection to the reference to Nightmare on Elm Street, I'd really love it, if Muschietti did a new reboot of NOES.
