^Nop, I didn't, I was actually wondering if that wasn't Natalie Portman in one of the final scenes of the movie, and was wondering how was she related to the movie, since she did not appeared there, then again I think she was the girlfriend that Jason Schwartzman's character was always checking out by phone. Maybe that scene is a nod to that short film… ?
Yeah, it's takes place before the Darjeeling Limited happened. Jason Schwartzman and Natalie Portman who's his girlfriend in it are playing the same characters from that movie.
I will agree that Wes Anderson has a unique style to his movies. The characters, the backgrounds, the pacing, etc is much different then other directors. Like HTX0811 said, you might not like his movie the first time, but it grows on you...which is true because after a few viewings, you understand things a little more and the film starts to make more sense.
I love Wes Anderson. Moonrise Kingdom is one of my favorites. Bottle Rocket is a rare gem that I keep forgetting about.
The only one I've seen is Fantastic Mr. Fox and I found it FAN.....cier than most modern animated flicks. Perhaps in time I'll tune it to more of Anderson's work.

There are some movies that you need a certain mood to watch them, and then they result as a perfect experience. They are movies that you just sit with no expectation and then they result a great experience. There are movies that are so great, that even when you are in a not so nice mood, depressed, hopeless or whatever, they are that good, that you still enjoy them, those I considered perfect movies and The Grey is one of them...[more]...
great review laks! Loved it as well, and I'm glad they actually did it for real, instead of faking the whole thing in some studio with fake snow and fake breath haha.

This movie had an awesome cast, that is for sure and everyone knows it, pretty much the awesome cast was the reason why we went to see this movie...[more]...
Thanks for your review. I've been wanting to see this because I love Joaquin Phoenix, Philip S. Hoffman and Amy Adams. I'm not sure that will be enough though as the plot doesn't really interest me either. I think I'll pass on this for now after reading you were somewhat bored. Thanks for the great review.
Schmoes I need to Video Skype with:
Analyzing Frank Darabont: Happy Birthday Sir!
That's good! So, if you don't mind my asking, what is your first language (mine is french)? And where did you learn french?
Mine is Spanish, I was an student in L'Alliance Francaise, but made only 4 Levels out of 13 levels.
