When you get big names in a movie, with Big Actors, (Jodie Foster, Kate Winslet, Christopher Waltz, Jhon C. Reilly) and Big Director (Roman Polanski) you expect some kind of a Masterpiece.
While this movie is really far from that, it was very entertaining, but I felt like, more than a movie I was watching some kind of acting exercise or more specifically an acting class, this could have work excellent on stage. Again this is another movie, with "normal" people, a little bit middle upper class people. A little pretentious for me as well, but at the end of the day, people. Nop, the story doesn't go anyway but it was entertaining. It can be really boring for some viewers so, is really not for everybody so I cannot 100% recommend. If you like Woody Allens movies, then go ahead and watch this, because definitely has a vibe of it.
^^^agree strider. Carnage is def one of the best films of 2011. I need to purchase this as well. I couldn't get enough after watching it the first time. Everything about it was divine. The acting was SENSATIONAL. Unapologetic is a perfect word for that type of carnage.

It's funny you mentioned that it "could have work excellent on stage," because CARNAGE is based on an actual play, and the script is co-written by the playwright and director Roman Polanski.
I thoroughly enjoyed CARNAGE, so much so that I'd say it's one of the best films of 2011. The performances are sublime, the dialogue is razor-sharp, the characters are delightfully insane, the humor is dark and unapologetic, and Polanski brings out of the best in the actors and the material. I've never had so much fun spending time with such unpleasant characters. Haha! Most critics have stated that the play is superior, but considering I'll probably never see the play, I'm pretty content with the film adaptation.
Thanks for posting this review! It has reminded me that I need to purchase this film on Blu-ray ASAP!
