Review:

It is an stated fact that I love Indian Movies. I even know Indian people who don't enjoy them as much as I do. Yes there is a high cliche about them... the music, the customs, the eternal same love histories. But there are exceptions. Even the exceptions got their haters because sometimes they depict the bad aspects about the country, or controversial issues that despite they might be true, they simply will not help to the image people have about India and its people.

The good thing about My Name is Khan is that is a movie that has the capacity of take out all your cliches and prejudices. It is beautifully, professionally done, with so much attention to details that you just enjoy it very much. The first time I saw the poster I said to myself... "Oh My God another movie with Shah Rukh Khan". This gentleman is one of the biggest actors there, but I have been following his career, watching a lot of his movies and I just saw him repeating the same thing over and over, is not that he doesn't act well, because he gives you great performances but you just see him so much on the screen that sometimes it is way too much. Also he is extremely powerful in India, have one (according to IMDB is really 3) Movie Production Company called "Red Chillies Ent." So, you have here Mr. "King Khan" doing another movie. But Why did I wanted to give a watch? and ended myself putting this DVD in my top five list of purchases in my recent trip to India?.

Mr. Shah Rukh Khan had an incident with American Immigration on one trip to USA to ironically promote this film, there are different versions of the history but the fact is that his name came on a "list Alert" so he was on hold to make him questions. That is the first reason that bring me to see this movie. He the greatest, famous and powerful actor in India, who is not famous in USA had this incident, how did he felt? was he humble?, was he bothered?, was he upset?, How did they treat him? out of curiosity I made myself these questions and of course I will never had the real answer.

Asperger. I did not know anything about Asperger until a TV novel came out here in my country with this in detail.. This is the second reason. People with Asperger have almost always the burden of the people treat them as retarded, or crazy ... or both ...How Shah Rukh Khan will perform a guy like this?

So the story brings you the battle of life of a person with Asperger, which is hard specially because there is not so much information about it. And this guy is a Muslim, a Muslim that marries a Hindu Woman, a Muslim with Asperger that lives in America and is victim of the unfortunate facts that came after September 11. So there is a lot of prejudice around this guy, in the whole history. So the facts a bring him to a journey to try to meet the President of USA and let him know: "My Name is Khan and I am not a Terrorist".

It is a beautiful history narrated by him as a letter of love, so we just enjoy the journey, his love history, his way to face the problems, his way to analyze situations and the glory of his humbleness.

I needed to see this movie because I myself had a lot of prejudice of Mr. Khan and I am happy to see him in a different way.
