It seems someone finally let the filmmakers in on the joke that Chucky has become, leading to what is essentially a dark comedy re-boot of the series. But can Chucky work as a dark comedy?
I was initially very excited to see the Chucky series rebounding from the disappointing third Child's Play film, but I wasn't aware that what I was getting myself into was going to be more comedy than horror. And for me that was a pretty big miss for the franchise.
While there are some funny moments and a devastatingly brutal murder involving an air bag, this film mostly misses the mark all together for me. The laughs are lame and if the filmmakers aren't taking this series seriously anymore, why should we? Turning a horror franchise into a joke, literally, is a terrible move.
And if you were wondering, Jennifer Tilly just flaunts cleavage. No money shot here fellas. And ultimately no reason to watch.

Boo, you suck! I love this movie. :p
