Midnight in Paris

Midnight-in-paris-poster1

Directed by: Woody Allen
Written by: Woody Allen
Cast: Owen Wilson, Rachael McAdams, Marion Cotillard, Adrien Brody, Michael Sheen, Kathy Bates
Studio: Sony
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Official Site:
Plot: An experienced (yet tired) screenwriter goes to Paris with his fiance, hoping to get inspired. His longing for Paris circa 1920s blindsides him from what matters most.... right now.

Review:

Very enjoyable! With the exception of some overzealous literary name-dropping, this film lived up to its full Woody Allen potential along with its leading actors. Owen Wilson and Rachel McAdams portrayed the uncomfortable and ill-fit relationship extremely well. As Vicky Christina did for Spain, Allen captures Paris with all of its beauty, delight and sentimentality. Nice afternoon matinee for a couple of lady friends or could be a smooth pick for a first date. :)

If you like this, I recommend Anything Else, starring Jason Biggs, Christina Ricci and Woody Allen in one of his best supporting roles to date.

Directed by John Krasinski, written by David Foster Wallace. Hauntingly great movie, made me want to read the book.

SUPER (HD Trailer)

My mom is coming to SF and she asked if we could see a lot of movies while she's here. These are contenders:

Super-movie-poster
1. SUPER - We both love Rainn Wilson! This should be good.
2. The Conspirator - My mom is into period films, so this may be a good option. Saw a review on TV that said its excellent, so we will see.
3. Certified Copy - As a single girl, I reserve the right to go to romantic movies with my Mom because somehow it's less awkward and pressure filled than a first date. Plus, Juliette Binoche is awesome.
4. Poetry - This is a maybe, but I think we might both enjoy it.
5. Your Highness - If she hasn't seen it already, this might be fun.
6. ALTERNATE: Jane Eyre - Re: Period movies. This would be me going for her though. Not super into it.

Is Super that violent?

hmmm, maybe you are right. :/ Indie romantic movie it is. (It's too bad too. That's the one I was more psyched for.)

It's hard to do a non-repeat of your choices, as you both have good taste. :) I still say its unfair to pick one movie per letter, too much to consider. I found B, F, S, H and P the most challenging. How about you?
