There are obvious similarities to endless other biographical movies, especially for musicians. Take for example setting up his childhood with a depressing death, his addiction to drugs, infidelity, but by the end coming to terms with these demons and going clean. Then, the movie ends nearly disregarding the next three decades of musical influence. Doesn't it sound like last year's Oscar bait Ray? I think it sure does! Jamie Foxx was the only reason to see that movie, but this time around Walk the Line is a better movie, and Phoenix is not too shabby as the man himself, Mr. Johnny Cash...[more]...
