Apatow's latest feature isn't a comedy. It's a drama, in which most of the only comedy occurs when the comedians are on stage and destroying what real comedy is all about. It's ok that it's not an hilarious epic of massive comedic proportions. It's just... that it's also not that great of a drama.
I was thinking of talking endlessly about all the issues I had with the movie, but you know what? It's not deserving of much explanation.
Even if this was a really good movie, I don't think there'd be much for me to mak mention of. With that said, the most I can say is that this wasn't a breakthrough movie; it's not on par with Apatow's other two greats, either in drama OR comedy. So, basically, this was just an average movie. Even a little boring.
But I loved the Star of David Superman shirt!
