I just finished BBC's Sherlock and holy shit the pure brilliance of this show cannot be overstated enough. This is purely masterful television and some of the best writing I've ever experienced in any medium. Cumberbatch is impeccable as Sherlock Holmes with a presence that completely carries every single second that he's on screen, no wonder he has such a massive following. Freeman is stoutly collected and his usual dry, witty humor is spot on for Watson. Those two work so well together that it's going to makes their confrontation in Smaug an even more monumental scene for me then it already is. I'm anxiously awaiting season 3 this winter and I'm glad they put aside their exploding careers to come back to this series again.
